Really crappy effects. I'm not thrilled with the premise. Why should I care if this chick finds her boyfriend? And I really couldn't understand why the Nave cared, either. If he wanted Alice, then I could see him help her, while hoping they never find him. But there was no indication he wants Alice himself. He claimed he really did not want to be there, and even that some might want to kill him. Yet he didn't take much convincing to stay.
And what time period is it? The mental hospital, and the way the doctors acted, looked to me like they were in the 1800's, or at least early 1940's or 50's. But when the nave was in Storybrook, it was obviously present day.
Also not a fan of the 80lb chick who can clobber five 200lb guys with one hand tied behind her back. That's been done to death by now.
There were too many (pardon the pun) holes well. When they were on the cliff, why didn't genie bf just poof Alice and himself away? If he needed it wished, she could have just wished it.
With the original Once, I immediately cared about Emma. I enjoyed seeing all the fairy tale characters in a modern environment. It brought all these characters into a completely new story.
But after one episode, there was not a single character I care about. And why does this queen hate Alice so much? It looks like it may be just one new Alice adventure, rather than a completely new story like the original Once.
I'll give it a few episodes b4 quitting. My threshold is pretty low. I made it through both The Following and Under The Dome.
