Beauty and the Beast got renewed thanks to a deal with CBS but it's ludicrous that it did. The ratings for that show are even lower than Star Crossed and it barely scrapes in half a million viewers!

What kind of deal did they make? Was the CEO of CBS the only person watching it, or something?

Next season they will move The 100, cancel it, and renew whatever displaced it.

Really disappointing. The 100 is watchable as a spring-summer season bridge series. But TP was a very nice surprise this season. Very good storyline with interesting characters and not a ton of filler episodes/moments. Peyton List definitely showed she can do more than play the bimbo secretary/girlfriend.

I like Kristin Kreuk as much as the next guy, but that show is almost unwatchable.

A shame about The Tomorrow People, it's certainly better than other shows that got renewals.

As far as I am concerned, she can play any part she likes....wink.gif

If the show is made by the CBS production arm, CBS a half owner of the CW network could be making money on both ends. That reason is often the case when underperforming shows are renewed.

That's likely what happened, I looked over at IMDb and one of the cancelled shows had Warner Studios involved whereas the show that got renewed looked to be a pure CBS TV Studios product.

The 4 new shows the CW picked up, 2 are being produced by CBS TV Studios, the other 2 by Warner Bros. The Tomorrow People which was canceled, was a co production between both. The entire network serves as a distributor for both parent companies' production entities.

I suppose the only reason they renewed Beast was because they didn't have anything better to put in its place. Maybe if the Supernatural spinoff had been picked up they would have bumped Beast for it.

The Problem with TP was that they didn't change the world. It was all self centered, look at me, see what I can do for myself.

I'm fine with that. It worked in the movie Jumper too. I think the reverse is actually true for TP. They tried to make a world-changing plot a major element and it made no sense. When the show was dealing with smaller goals the plot had less holes and the characters acted more consistently.
