She clearly can't act. She is just another eye candy "actress". I do agree though, this character really shows her lack of skill, because that is a very easy character to play with minimal lines and screen time.

I ran across this photo of Gina Carano who played a particularly nasty baddie a couple of episodes ago. Thought I would share, especially for those of you who say you have pulled out from watching.

Her dialog was remarkable in that she had none. The acting though was superb nonetheless.

Say what?! smile.gif Because Almost Human is basically just one more Big 4 network police procedural, with a little sci-fi thrown in, I haven't been much bothered by the decision to show episodes out of their intended order. Either way, the show wouldn't have been much but John and Dorian's interesting relationship keeps me coming back, albeit halfheartedly.

I would have never watched it except for Hulu Plus and turning off Directv.

I think this picture is even better.

Just watched this week's episode, in which our favorite nerd, Rudy, discovered that somebody had been messing with Dorian's psyche, or whatever it is in the case of bots. I laughed out loud several times and was even able to handle the typically terrible performance of Minka Kelly just because she is so adorable. smile.gif The girl really needs to avoid cop roles. Because of Kelly's performance of a lifetime in the role of a lifetime, as Autumn in (500) Days of Summer, I had overestimated her talent. So what though? She is still gorgeous.

I loved his episode. The abortive love story involving the blind girl was effective and very sad. Even the marginally talented Minka Kelly shined tonight because she was able to bring to bear her extraordinary charm and beauty. Despite her limited acting skills, Kelly is so adorable she makes me weak in the knees.

We keep getting echoes of Blade Runner, one of my favorite movies.

"I've never heard his voice. I've only heard him grunt when he was kicking your ass."

Some very funny banter again this week. The first scenes with Dorian and Kennex are usually the best part of the entire episode. I also thought the Total Recall suit was amusing too.

The rest of the Criminal Minds leftover story was the usual forgettable stuff with the unfortunate moment when Judy revealed her surprise I found unintentionally funny. Irony! biggrin.gif

With only two episodes left of all the things in the Human universe learning more about Chromes and Minka Kelly was way, way down my list. The Chrome stuff has never been the most interesting part of the world so why they chose the penultimate episode to devote more time to that and attempt to pad out Minka Kelly is wasting potential. They should have stuck with her being a pretty extra.

The soundtrack for Almost Human has a heavy Vangelis(Blade Runner) influence to it. It also sounds a lot like the music used in Charlie Jade.

I was just saying that to my wife during tonights episode,
that the music sounded very much like Blade Runner. The
high pings and bells that Vangelis used. I guess the whole
premise of the show is very Philip K. Dick anyway.

Last night's episode was the kind I meant when I said you can use a good done in one story that further builds the world. You get some insight into the genetically engineered people and their place in society along with a good case with interesting motivations.

I couldn't agree more! I notice that the background music is often very similar to that which Ridley Scott used in Blade Runner.

As usual, we agree that the banter between the boys was a hoot. It remains the best thing about the show, by far.

It's hard to disagree that too many of the plots seem like typical Big 4 network, Criminal Minds like, cop procedurals with a psychological twist. For some reason, though, the blind girl moved me and I almost felt sorry for the creepy serial killer. I also liked Minka Kelly this week. Caveat: Kelly is so gorgeous, I tend to forget from time to time that she can't act a lick and is about as convincing as a cop as the 10 year old Shirley Temple would have been. I keep waiting for Kelly's cop character to say, "Jeepers!" smile.gif

This show is really growing on me, but Minka kills me. They gave her more air time and time to try being a cop and it's going really badly. I am interested more in the Chromes though I didn't quite get it.

Didn't I hear Crystal Blue Persuasion on the show, of course it wasn't the original Tommy James and the Shondells version.
Do you want me to come to the Bar with you and watch you drink?? Funny line in the last segment///

That Minka Kelly cocking-her-head-side-to-side thing is very distracting. It's her only acting shtick.

LOL line;
Dorian (listing John's flaws) "you chew with your mouth open, you lie about putting jell in your hair.... and you snore..."
John: "how do you know I snore?"
Dorian "your smart bed told me"
John: "Oh? I didn't realize you two had a relationship..."

I haven't been watching this show consistently. Can someone explain what "Chromes" are? Are they humans that have been genetically altered after birth or are they grown from test tubes?

She was in that movie for all of 30 seconds. I think Sean Connery in Prince of Thieves had more screen time.

Next week is the final episode of the season. frown.gif

I wonder if they will do a cliff hanger? Anyone know if the final episode was truly the final episode filmed or is it out of order too?

Then in order to earn such high praise from gwsat, she must have been nekkid for that half-minute! Which would, at the very least, earn that flick a place in my Netflix queue.

The last three are in production order (11-12-13) but I think they planned on a 22 episode season one. Guesses on being S.O.L. ?

What can I say? Little Minka is off the charts adorable. It's just a shame that she lacks talent to match her charm and beauty. Thus, she was perfect in (500) Days of Summer because all she had to do was be charming and beautiful. Anyway, she is in over her her head cast as a cop against the macho Karl Urban and cerebral Michael Ealy.

First, couldn't agree that what "Chromes" are doesn't make any difference in this lightweight show. Still, I seem to remember that Chromes are folks who were genetically enhanced in the womb to be beautiful, hyper-intelligent, and, maybe, not to age.

With no renewal announcement and one episode left (and even that doesn't sound related to most of the arc potential gone before) it's not even worth caring about any episode story thread now.

Better to just enjoy the final Lennox and Dorian Hour with some crime stuff in between.

Finale synopsis:
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Det. Kennex (Karl Urban) and Dorian (Michael Ealy) investigate a string of murders by a copycat of a serial killer whom Kennex's father (guest star John Diehl) put in jail. As the investigation unfolds, biotechnology from the future sheds light on crimes of the past. Meanwhile, Dorian receives his performance evaluation since being reactivated in the all-new "Straw Man"
