Re PQ: Recall long threads years back here about putting silk/nylon stockings, or similar-purpose filters, behind lenses for that special 'look'. Are we taking any bets on WHO will survive the finale?

To be honest, I had been thinking the same.

Every one of these characters have a sordid side of not small proportions.
All are miserable, all have little prospects of a better life.
It would make some sense (from a dramatic POV) to have none of them survive.

If Frank gets shot, can I have Jordan?

After re-thinking the end of season deaths, I would like to see Ray and Ani getting whacked and Frank & Jordan escaping to start anew in South America or something.

Yeah, I know...the "good guys" turn into maggot food and the "bad guys" find their nirvana.
If NP actually HAD a pair, this is how it would end.
It would be an ending people would talk about for a long time.

I would like a good ending for Frank, not only because it would be a bit different from the usual to see such a deeply flawed person thrive, but also because it would probably lead to a demise more satisfying than prison for his completely reprehensible enemies.

We only saw the Mayor's son in one speaking part, but it was enough to hope for his demise in a most grevious manner. Actually the only character in the show the least bit sympathic has already been killed off - Paul.

For me, this is a repeat of Pulp Fiction in sympathies in that I hated every character and wanted all of them to die in pain. Hated that movie, but on that one I walked out. Something here has drug me along hoping for a proper wreck at the end.

It's gonna take a "wreck" on the scale of this one to get me back next year:

If it wasn't for my admiration of CF and RM, I wouldn't have bothered with this season.

Interesting finale, fathers prophecy fulfilled, Frank showing maybe a little of why he was the way he was. While not perfect, I did like how they wrapped most everything up.

I suspect the haters will not be swayed by the finale, but I was satisfied. I thought it was a great series, but certainly not for all tastes.

A bit too awkward in a couple of parts for my tastes, but I thought it was good. Ray and Frank stayed true to their stubborn nature of not letting go of what matters most to them, and I like the implementation of the ending's open-endedness.

I just hope there isn't a spin-off, titled "True Reporter."

The season finale was OK for me.

As soon as Ray went to the school to
See his kid I knew he was a goner.

The one I didn't see coming was Frank's
Demise by, of all people, the Mexicans!
Kind of pissed me off...he's practically
Home free and then, in the huge metropolis
Of LA he gets cornered by them.
WTF?? Way to easy. Very large plot hole in my
Opinion.

Now, if I'm missing something feel free to

What made that worthwhile in my mind is that Frank would have been home free if he didn't make a last-ditch effort to keep the diamonds in the suit and his pride. In a typical plot, he would have just been killed outright.

I'm sure there will be some people griping about this season and the finale. I was a little sad about the ending too but IMO the bonus scenes after the credits made it all worth it and wrapped everything up nicely

Well, what a waste of my time, hoping against hope that something worthwhile would turn up on this show this season. Comparatively, Ballers and The Brink have been infinitely more engaging this season. And that's saying something.

I don't know, I'm just sick of horror movie style character stupidity and convenient setups, where antagonists trap the protagonists in unrealistic ways.

I did appreciate that the women were spared a similar fate though and apparently formed a lasting bond.

I was a little surprised at how scatter brain & disorganized Leonard turned out to be. His importance to this season's story can not be understated.

I expected Ani to be preggers ala the Terminator, Starman, and several other movies with similar endings.

The sharpest bunch by far were the so-called "Mexicans", although they did seem to leave $3 mill on the table.

Unknowingly left $3 million. They didn't know about the diamonds, only about the cash. The SM turned out to be the smartest of the bunch.

I did like how they brought back what Ray said earlier. Basically the main group was set up to fail from the start. They were always meant to be the "fall guy" for the activities that occurred after. VV did a very good job in that last scene. I was expecting to see his body in the background earlier with the way things were going.

For the most part the still have very good to great TV on. You may not like it, but it doesn't mean it's in the tank. What you may want to do from now on is wait to see if something appeals to you and read reviews from those that share similar tastes. That way you don't get started on something only to be tortured because you "have" to finish it out.
