Also, I don't think these are the exact same models.
The front splitters look different to me.

No matter, the modern day AM is the most beautiful sports car I know.
Not the fastest, not the least expensive...just the sleekest, most gorgeously perfect lines on any car sold today.
There, I said it.wink.gif

This is going to be great. I for one look forward to the carnage.

Though, I'd imagine Merc sat down with these guys and said something like " Listen, Mercedes is going to win this year. You two pull any stunts to put this in jeopardy and you will pay consequences heretofore never seen in the history of the planet. I'm talking fire and brimstone here. Niki Lauda in a freaking bunny suit waking you up every hour. You must trust me on this"

I don't think Nico Rosberg shunted on purpose to thwart Hamilton's last lap attempt to take the pole but It's clear that the way it played out made Nico damn near giddy and he didn't mind who knew it. smile.gif Fun stuff, only in F1.

I am getting tired of Mercedes' dominance. When one of the commentators said that Mercedes, Red Bull, and Ferrari seemed to be the "Big Three" I thought that it was really more like "Snow White and the two dwarfs." My disappointment on this score, though, has been leavened by what seems to be genuine antipathy, edging toward hatred, between Rosberg and Hamilton. Maybe the team can reign the boys in but I doubt it.

I guess it's safe to say LH isn't the ONLY one on the team who can play mind-games.biggrin.gif
Who wants to give odds on the Safety Car coming out before the end of the first lap?

All the way back thru the grid we have teammates lined up with each other....and NO ONE wants to finish behind their teammate.

FWIW, I think the first 3 rows will see all 9 cars diving into the first corner like wild banshees.biggrin.gif

Stranger things have happened....wink.gif

I predict a massive pileup at the front of the grid. Max Chilton's plan of playing it safe and taking advantage of such things finally pays off, and Marussia score their first points! Hey it could happen, the dude has finished 24 of 24 races.

I think it is unlikely that "Hammy" Hamilton could have beaten Rosberg's quali. time even if there had been no yellow flags. As far as I could see no one near the top went faster in their last qualifying run.
It will be interesting to see how Hamilton's emotional intensity copes with the pressures of a full season of close competition compared with Rosberg's calmer, more mentally disciplined approach.

Hamilton had Rosbergs time beat in the first sector before he had to abort because of the yellow.

They mentioned a couple of times that Lewis was a couple tenths up on Nico before he had to abort.

Also:
Q: Lewis, how pleased are you with your first lap in Q3 and did you leave some time on the table; if there is, where exactly?

Hamilton: Generally the lap wasn't too bad... I remember starting the last lap and said 'this is it, this is going to be the lap'. I was two and a half tenths up and didn't get to finish it.

They are the same buddy. The colors are messing with your perception.

ABSOLUTELY!
It's going to be interesting now that they will be using AMG power. They have always been lacking in the power department.

Another 1-2!!! Mercedes might have the constructors title wrapped up by Silverstone.eek.gif

I must confess that Ricky is making an impression. He could easily end up 3rd in the championship at the end of the year.

My new favorite game is Save The Titanic

The montage they showed prior to the start where they digitally blended the current drivers with old school drivers and footage was very cool. I hope that shows up online somewhere.

The Indy 500 is reminding me why I normally never watch races live, but would gladly pay to get them commercial free. The amount of commercials is ridiculous,

Ricciardo is a rock star, a hugely charismatic guy.

Monaco turned out to be the static bore I had feared it would be. When Nico and Hamilton had a clean start and were 1-2 after the first turn, there was about a 95 percent chance that they would finish that way. Booorrring! Ricciardo gave it the college try but it was clear he didn't have enough car to catch Hamilton, much less Nico.

The drama from quail led up to the tension at the start. I
think everyone was waiting for the turn one
fireworks. Alas that failed to happen. I was waiting to ser how Merc. would handle pit stops but a safety car took care of that. Lackluster, yes,but still had some drama. At the 1/2 point ran to the store for beer and ribs, sorry Oink.

? For those watching the 500.

Are you getting 720p? I thought ABC was always 720p, but I am getting 1080i. Could just be something my affiliate is doing.

Strange. I did switch to an ESPN channel and it was 720p. I saw some minor jaggies which was why I checked. No big deal I guess, just my AV nerd self sharing time with my racing nerd self.

Agreed.

I wish he would have had some of that luck in a previous season.

Agreed. Great attitude and one hell of a driver. He has thoroughly impressed me this season.

Yes he is. I just hope he doesn't become tainted and become a Prima donna like most of the other drivers.

Even though you knew he wouldn't get past Lewis, it was good to see a little excitement after another procedural.

Boy, Kimi just can't get a break. He got a great start and then had nothing but drama. We really needed to seize the opportunity and get some points on RB, but alas, it wasn't meant to be.
