I think the current cars are ugly, and when I turn on a race, I see protruding manhole covers on straight sways (Baltimore) hunks of concrete being pulled up (Belle Isle) and races that can't go two laps without cautions. Add to that, and the sanctioning body seems to be making it up as they go along.
With all that ails F1 right now, it's still the best show for me personally.
That's it for me too. The cars look like something from a higher end indoor karting track. The in car cams give away the fact that the chassis is light years away from the sophistication of F1. Bump bump bump - saw wheel -correct a few times - blast out of the corner as straight as possible.
I remember watching the finale last year when like six cars finished. They resorted to vacuuming the garbage out of the radiator side pods every few laps. WTF. During the post race interviews they had to make sure the dumbass Firestone Firehawk mascot was there in the picture. Get some grid girls fer chrissakes. That thing looks like something from the seventies.
For a season finale it seemed about as professional as Ventura speedway Saturday night midget racing. That's not to say I don't love http://venturaraceway.com/
Ventura Saturday nights, but this is supposed to be the pinnacle of American open wheel racing.
I'm honestly not enjoying bashing Indycar, I still watch it, I'm more pissed that it won't try to get back to what it was. Back then people like Senna would come over to check out the cars. The top guys in CART were generally thought of as people who could probably transfer somewhat successfully to F1. Those days are long gone. This morning just before F1 Qualy was over, they had an IRL commercial with Paul Tracy showing some old footage of him. That car looked badass. Actually the Indy Lights cars look better too.
OK sorry, /rant off
