Wow! Theyre gonna have both races tomorrow. Will be interesting to see how those guys handle it. That will be gruesome for the drivers.

Whoa! I can't paste an actual image of the Tweet via mobile, but Mario Andretti just sent this out:

I think the current cars are ugly, and when I turn on a race, I see protruding manhole covers on straight sways (Baltimore) hunks of concrete being pulled up (Belle Isle) and races that can't go two laps without cautions. Add to that, and the sanctioning body seems to be making it up as they go along.

With all that ails F1 right now, it's still the best show for me personally.

That's it for me too. The cars look like something from a higher end indoor karting track. The in car cams give away the fact that the chassis is light years away from the sophistication of F1. Bump bump bump - saw wheel -correct a few times - blast out of the corner as straight as possible.

I remember watching the finale last year when like six cars finished. They resorted to vacuuming the garbage out of the radiator side pods every few laps. WTF. During the post race interviews they had to make sure the dumbass Firestone Firehawk mascot was there in the picture. Get some grid girls fer chrissakes. That thing looks like something from the seventies.

For a season finale it seemed about as professional as Ventura speedway Saturday night midget racing. That's not to say I don't love http://venturaraceway.com/ Ventura Saturday nights, but this is supposed to be the pinnacle of American open wheel racing.
I'm honestly not enjoying bashing Indycar, I still watch it, I'm more pissed that it won't try to get back to what it was. Back then people like Senna would come over to check out the cars. The top guys in CART were generally thought of as people who could probably transfer somewhat successfully to F1. Those days are long gone. This morning just before F1 Qualy was over, they had an IRL commercial with Paul Tracy showing some old footage of him. That car looked badass. Actually the Indy Lights cars look better too.

OK sorry, /rant off

I used to enjoy CART, I saw a few races down here when they ran the Miami GP with IMSA on the street circuit. Lost intrest with the IRL split and have been trying to get intrested in it again. And your correct, they do look like indoor karts.

The "split" was an example of normally smart people getting together to go on a Golden Goose hunt. They found it, killed it, and now the eggs are no more.

When you get out here we'll go to Ventura speedway. It's right on the beach, the food is good, and the chicks that come here are unbelievable.

Bingo, partner! I think I have posted here that I go back so far with the Indy 500 that I used to listen to the races on the radio, announced by Sid Collins. But, like you, the CART IRL split was was so petty but at the same time, destructive, I've never felt the same about Indy car racing since.

Despite all its problems these days, F1 is still the only game in town for me. I've got my game face on for some racin' tomorrow morning.

Great battle between Alonso and Ricciardo. Wish the tv coverage would have showed more of it instead of Hamilton following Bottas around. No whining either.
Alonso finishes 5th while Raikkonen gets lapped. Pretty certain Alonso made 1 more stop than Raikkonen too.

Because of the asinine fuel flow limit. Stupid regulation. It's F1. Let the greenies gravitate to Formula E, and leave F1 the fark alone.

I love watching Ricciardo drive. That battle with Alonso was epic. I don't think Daniel even knows how to whine. Another thing for him not to learn from Sebrina.

Kudos to Hamilton, but I actually had him pegged at P2. The busted front wing killed that, but the team strategy to go with an extra stop for two sets of super-softs was brilliant.

Tin hats remain a fashion staple among Hamilton fans. Now it's the lack of a safety car for the Sutil spin that have robbed Lewis of the win. I would have to agree that a safety car was warranted, but if Lewis was sitting on a 30 second lead, I can't help but wonder what the reaction would have been to the non-call. More likely they would then be screaming conspiracy if there had been a SC.

MERCEDES WINS AGAIN!

Let me start with I thought it was a good race. It seemed like there was a lot of racing for position behind Nico.

Replying to a page or two from BG about Button, wank off (or so the JB fans might say). Button was once again ahead of his teammate at the finish which makes every race but two this year. He may not be what he once was, but he still seems to be better than his teammates. Matter of fact, my one prediction for the race was going to be that Button would end up in sixth and no one would know how it happened.

I thought Hamilton had a great race all things considered. One of my biggest complaints about F1 is the stupid rule about using all of the tire compounds. Also, everyone knows how I feel about downforce. It would be nice to make the front wing the size of a 2x4. Along with Hamilitons, I recall Kimi and someone else getting theirs broken.

And finally Williams. Congrats to Bottas, as he drove a great race and held off Lewis for another second place finish. In contrast, there was Massa. I realize it was considered a racing incident, but he didn't need to turn all the way down. It was typical Senna/Brazilian driving at his finest - crash or give way. I wonder if Sir Frank is second guessing his decision to replace Crashdor. At least with Crash, he was getting some oil money. With Massa, he has received a couple of totaled cars and only four points races. At the end of the day and no one would have guessed this at the start of the season, but WILLIAMS IS IN THIRD!

My new favorite game is Save The Titanic

Alonso vs Ricciardo was great racing, they really went at it, and did you see at the end Ricciardo almost caught him and finished just a tenth of a second behind!!! Good clean racing, a lot of fun to watch.

As to Kimi, he just isnt cutting it this year.

never take life seriously

Magnusen's race was trashed thanks to Massa. As was Ricciardo's, although he sure did give the fans a show along with Fred. I have been known to defend Massa, but not this time. That was a stupid move. It's the first corner, and he did not expect someone to his inside? His comments to Buxton were to the affect that young drivers should know that they can't win a race on the first corner. Quit right, Filipe. And experienced drivers as well. It's his fault entirely that he ended up on his lid.

I don't have it DVRed, but it looked like Mag wasn't pushing the issue and almost looked to be backing off a bit. Of course, Massa was out wide, so as you said he should have known someone would be on his inside. I wonder how much positive PR boost Williams would get by sacking Massa and bringing in the chick.

Glad to see the commentators all chime in on how they dislike the stupid fuel limit rules, after we heard over and over again on the radios that the drivers were told to save fuel. It's so sad how they've nerfed the cars this year (11k RPM limit? Seriously? This is why the cars sound like ricers with fart cans).

Great racing by Alonso and Ricci, better driver won out. And Massa was completely off-base blaming his dump on Mags, he needs to look in the mirror on that one (again).
