http://sportbild.bild.de/formel-1/20...760.sport.html

Nico Rosberg Mercedes has just extended the contract at 2017 - now the Stuttgart also want world champion Sebastian Vettel. SPORT BILD know at Mercedes you are dreaming of a German National Team "on four wheels."

The Treaty of Lewis Hamilton, Rosberg's current teammate runs from the end of 2015. And it is believed former Formula 1 World Champion Jacques Villeneuve, he will not extend it. Villeneuve to SPORT BILD: "Lewis Hamilton (third place in Hockenheim, note) will not be here long. Everyone in the German team wants the German world champion. Lewis was only bought to make Nico even better. "

Nico Rosberg has won the Grand Prix of Germany for the first time. Lewis Hamilton raced to third place. »

Mercedes motorsport boss Toto Wolff will not comment on the rumors SPORT BILD demand, but says: "The environment is too competitive to want to go into all our plans in public. We're talking about a handful of top riders. They are fought over by the best teams. We are therefore trying to build a know-how of how the market moves, and then come to a decision. "

Red Bull's motorsport director Helmut Marko confirmed but: "Of course, make the attack! And not only. Also McLaren-Honda has Sebastian made a cheeky high supply. "

Vettel Villeneuve advises a change. The former champion in SPORT BILD: "Sebastian has to go by Red Bull," he says. "The public is just going to rethink their opinion of him. In the mid-size car, it looks as if it were even a middle-class drivers. "
From a switch to Mercedes Villeneuve advises the four-time world champion Vettel from though. He says: "At Mercedes counts only the brand, not the driver. And Rosberg's team has long been recognized for it. "

I get the gist of all that but damn, those Google translations can be rough. Sounds like "Ween" lyrics.

"Of course, make the attack! And not only. Also McLaren-Honda has Sebastian made a cheeky high supply. "

Yes yes yes. Do that! or whatever.

Evidence of google translation type Ween lyrics. Ween was first though.

"The Stallion Pt. 3"

Mach 10 at sudden speed
Flying into the wind now
I'm flowing at my feet
Something of likeness to you now
I spotted you in the sun
I called your name from a distance
I knew you were the one
I called again
I do declare
I can float in the air
And with some love from above
Don't caress the weasel
And don't fall too soon
Don't seek the blood from the panther
Don't take a trip to you soon
I'm the one
Helding the time back from the sun
As I scope the lobe
I am the one who controls the sun
And I know that things will pass
As time elapses
Time elapsing through the sound of you;
And the things we could do
Just think of the master
Trying to fool the blastman
Check the cards at the table
Scream softly you are able
To see the sign of thine self as
Throughout the ages of time
Things u thought weren't going to
Climb the mountain
See the sun
Touch the waves of the earth
Feel the grass softly
And don't think for the one you know
I am - screaming backward in the sand

(hey, dude, he's the stallion)

If Merc was so in love with Vettel then why are they trying to extend Hamilton?
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/formul...rcedes-3895163

As for Vettel going to McLaren, I can't see it, but stranger things have happened in F1. Of course if Vettel went to McLaren then that would open the door for Alonso to go to RB. That would leave the Tifosi with the downward sloping Button, another retread return with Massa or Mr. excitement Crashdor.

Or Vettel could replace Raikkonen at Ferrari. Who knows? Silly season already?

That is true. Vettel already has multiple championships, so he might as well go with the payday and prestige that comes with being a Ferrari driver. I guess that can make up for fighting for fifth place every weekend.

You might ask Fred how much he is enjoying that right about now.

At present, switching teams is a complete crap shoot. Merc right now is somewhat of a known quantity but who can say what will happen in 2015.

Exactly. Its always that way.
Schumacher couldnt do anything at Mercedes when they were crap. Then Hamilton went there and got lucky.
Even Senna got a crappy car at the peak of his career when he went to Williams who had been dominating. Some would even say it killed him.
Almost certainly Mercedes will not be this good next year. In fact theyre dominance is already waning. The engine freeze was a gift from God. Merc fans should enjoy it while they can.

Well, to be fair Damon Hill very nearly won the world championship with Williams that year... if not for some shenanigans by Schumacher at the last race of the year.

I need to enhance my knowledge of the role of the race director:

http://www.planetf1.com/driver/18227...-rejoin-safely

Charlie quotes the rules, reminding the drivers that a driver rejoining the circuit after an "off" must do so safely.

He then says that at Silverstone, he did not think that Raikonnen rejoined the track "very safely", yet he was not penalized. Is this like being almost pregnant? So he rejoined safely but only by a RCH? Who makes the calls at the circuit? I have heard the term "referred to the stewards". OK, who makes the referral? What is CW's role in the process?

He also decried that he did not think that FRIC was legal, and with that pronouncement, every team on the grid that was using FRIC removed it or otherwise disabled it.

So which is it? Does his word = binding rules, or does he just offer opinions that sometimes are followed but other times not?

Seems like it is a bit of a crap shoot for the teams to know, but as for FRIC, they sure took CW's word as gospel, which I found very odd.

Very true and good point. I had forgotten that. Just watched "The Last Teammate" not long ago too and it was mostly Damon Hill talking about just that. Good show if you ever get a chance to watch it.
