That's just insane money. More than Lebron James.

More power to him though. Just shows you how much banks (e.g. Santander) rape us if they have that kind of caish to throw around on marketing.

According to Forbes, LeBron is the third most highly compensated athlete in the world. The highest ranking race car driver is Lewis Hamilton at Number 19. The difference seems to come from endorsements. LeBron makes $53 million from endorsements, while Hamilton makes "only" $3 million. Anyway, it's an interesting list. Alonso is Number 21.

Cripes, him buying a high end Ferrari would be like me buying you lunch. I wonder if things start losing their value when they become that easy to get. I'd bet you would need to be pretty mentally tough to have that kind of cash and stay at the top of your field.

They are lining the guardrails with Safe Barrier around the whole track next year.

From the video, the kid got out of his car and was walking down the track to shake his fist at another driver and walked into Tony's path. STAY IN YOUR CAR !! Beat his a$$ in the pits afterwards.

I've seen the footage and to be honest what he did is...not clear. But it's certainly difficult to come to a conclusion from one angle... Like you I hope he didn't do anyhthing stupid...

When I saw the first report of this, I thought surely it's just a stupid internet hoax. In fact, I was unaware that Stewart had started running Sprint Cars again. Initial reports are that he will race today.

http://jalopnik.com/tony-stewart-will-reportedly-compete-at-race-after-fata-1618951411

I have a hard time with the idea that someone could possibly keep their head on straight enough to be able to complete at this level after being involved in such a horrifying incident.

I guess that's what separates the real pros from the rest of us. FWIW, I am a fan of Tony Stewart. I appreciate his no BS approach to life. But having said that, I think this would be a good time to sit one out.

OMG just watched the video, this is a horrible accident. They're definitely doing the right thing with Tony not running today, but I have some fear that this could be a career-ender for him. It's tough to say that it was 100% the kid's fault.

I'm also a big Stewart fan for his no BS approach, he's matured a lot over the years and just wanted to teach the kid a lesson I'm sure but this was a terrible mistake on his part.

This was ugly. Poor kid.

This may be the last anyone sees Tony Stewart race. This wouldn't have happened if Tony didn't gun his motor as he approached the kid. The right rear wheel of a Sprint car is no joke. Tony should have been down on the apron letting the kid cool off. These are the kind of things that make you wish for a time machine.

Yep, Smoke screwed up !!!!

Now we wait to see how NASCAR spins this, knowing they encouraged the driver's to

act the fool.

Throwing helmets, punching one another on the track... etc.

Looks like reality caught up.

Really hate seeing a 20 year old kid go out that way.

There are two takes on this, the kid should have stayed in his car and Tony should have known better, unfortunately there are no take backs or time machines,All in all,a sad situation.Agreed, this could be Tony's last.
