Indeed.

One of the F1 personalities I follow Tweeted this the other day. You get a nice sense of the elevation change.

Spa is awesome for the speed and scenery alone, probably my favorite track of the year.

If this is true, someone should be shot. Why in hell would you knowingly give up HP? The tiny bit of aero you gain from a smaller engine cover is crap compared to HP. And it's crap that he was canned over it.

Marmorini: Ferrari sacrificed engine for aero

McLaren could make Button, Bottas switch

I find it hard to believe that a team that has lacked a reliable wind tunnel for the last 3 or 4 seasons would pin their hopes on aero gains. Perhaps Mr. Marmorini is covering his ass a bit.

As for Botton/Bottas, why would Bottas be willing to switch. There are so many unknowns about next year, any driver among the top teams that swaps seats is really rolling the dice.

Agreed. Williams has proven to have a much better car with the same power unit. What would be the motivation to got to McLaren? I know Honda is returning, but let's be realistic here, I think Merc has nailed the perfect setup for these power unit regs. Honda may be able to produce a unit that is close in performance, but it's all but impossible that they will produce one with a massive advantage over the Merc unit. McLaren has the best power unit on the grid and their car still sucks! It was awful last year as well, so it's not like this years car is a fluke.

I don't know. I could kind of see after 5 years of Adrian Newey some of these guys rethinking their priorities.

Totally agree on the wind tunnel bit though. But it's not out of the question for a company with that kind of hubris to convince itself into the wrong path.

It's interesting to speculate where Alonso would be this year in the Williams.

I haven't been able to watch that for a while. Stresses me out. I'm afraid someone is going to die there. They need to run it without the wings or something. Slow that **** down.

Hi guys, just got back from a vacation, missed this thread. Rough vacation, destroyed myself physically - too hot, too many stairs for my creaky knees, other problems too, but i guess i will live thru it.

I know i can look this up, but i am still wiped and lazy too, so who can tell me when the next F1 race is?

Went to New York City. Sat in Yankee Stadium in the sun, not a cloud in the sky. Plus a million subway stairs, and every business had stairs, and i ate and ate and ate New York pizza and deli food. And walked and walked and walked. Not easy for an overweight old fart like me!!!! Also had airplane cancelled due to bad weather, and had to spend 10 hours the next day in the airport trying to get a flight home, finally got one. What an ordeal.

Looking forward to Spa, sitting on my couch in my nice cold living room!!!

You and me partner! I went to NY in June to visit my son and his family and, like you, climbed a million subway stairs and walked a zillion miles. I'm not overweight but I sure as hell am old, so walking among all those aggressive fast moving New Yorkers was an adventure. Nevertheless, we had a wonderful time. NY has always been and remains one of my favorite destinations.

I'm also looking forward to Spa. I'm suffering from F1 withdrawal.
