lol Indeed! He paid the price though. How old was he when he died? 46?

Edit: Died at 45 of a heart attack.

Damn shame about the penalty for Alonso. Cost him about 30 seconds. Factor that in and Magnussen holding him up for about 10 laps and Alonso wouldve easily gotten a podium.
Magnussen should get a penalty for running Alonso off track. Alonso was clearly beside him.
Finally some decent points for Ferrari though but it couldve been much better.
Congrats to Ricciardo.
Eddie Jordan and his pink shirt again. Must be trying to make a statement. Wonder what it is.
Pathetic that they booed Rosberg. Racing incident as far as I'm concerned. Hope he wins the WDC.

He did, after the race. Given, it was too late then.

Alonso was never going to finish in front of Bottas.

Spa seems to be the boo capital of F1, especially if you are German. Last year Vettel got his worst boos there too.

Lets face it. The Belgians have a long memory and just aren't ready to forgive those Germans for mowing down their Ardennes forest with their "Tiger Tank Forest Trimmers®". I hesitate to take sides because they both make some of the best beer ever.

He has to be one of the bravest men alive to come back from his accident.

I did my best to offer a proper Zanardi tribute but did not get far enough over. :-)

I have to tell you, the Hamilton fans that post at another F1 forum I frequent have been apoplectic. Their man has been wronged, and the only acceptable recourse for the team to bench Rosberg. Horse crap in my view, but there is no reasoning with some of those guys.

Heh, yeah like 10 feet or so

I posted this a while back but nothing says Alex Zanardi like the video on this JA page. I get a little misty eyed every time I see it.

Never is a strong word. Alonso was in front of Bottas when he served his penalty. Bottas finished 30 seconds ahead of Alonso. The penalty alone made up for that.

Of course, the big difference is that the other incidents didn't involve team mates. Plus, I don't remember Hamilton's incidents popping tires.

Is it finally? Or like clockwork? Youre command of the English language is disturbing.
I never said Mags destroyed Alonsos race. I think that you were so anxious for me to post that that you didnt bother to try to comprehend what I actually posted. I suggest that if youre going to make comments on other peoples posts you should not only read them but try to understand them as well.

Speaking of that penalty, it was pretty darn light one considering the team was running around on track while the cars were in motion. When it happened I figured he would get a pit lane start out of it. He didn't even get a grid penalty for Monza.

http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/formula1/28952174

Interesting take on why Macca has left their two drivers flapping in the wind.

Contracts in F1 are essentially meaningless….it just means that if a driver changes teams before his contract is out, someone has to write a big check to the leaving team.

I have said all along that there could be some blockbuster moves for 2015.

Vettel, Fred, and the Merc driver that does NOT win the WDC may well be on the market. I don't see Hamilton wanting to stay if he loses the WDC unless Nico is sacked. And if he wins, I would put even money that Merc will decide that two nearly equal drivers fighting for a WDC is not a workable situation, so Rosberg may still be out.

Or, everyone could just stay put. :-)

Good thing you dont figure the way the FIA does. Buxton guessed it would be a drive thru penalty. Alonso got that with a 5 second stop.

Did you see exactly what happened? They didnt show it during race coverage.
The way they described it Alonso only sat still briefly when the cars started leaving the grid. He was never at the back of the field. If he had been then the penalty would have been more harsh.
As it turned out he only got penalized for having mechanics on track with less than 15 seconds from the time they took off for the warm up lap. Unsafe for sure but not any sort of disaster.

They showed it on the one I watched. The mechanics were running for the wall when the cars were moving.

You may want to read back and see who's disagreeing with who. Doesn't matter, I'm all argued out anyway. During the summer break, Me and Alonso were hanging around the Alps and I had the misfortune to get in a pissing contest with an Ibex. Not recommended.

But he pays for everything and the girls are ridiculous. I usually just nod my head and say "Viva!" a lot.
