I know a new Z06 has been announced and, apparently, will be revealed at the Detroit Show.

Has a ZR1 been confirmed yet?
There has been a lot of speculation there will be turbos, rather than superchargers, for one or both vehicles....
No contest?
I dunno....tongue.gif

BTW, SRT has confirmed a world-beating ACR is in the works.wink.gif
Sounds similar to my CTS-V.
Of course, it probably should....it's the same motor with a slightly bigger supercharger.

The new Viper does sound good too, but different.
Its 10 cylinders are apparent when it goes by (I heard it during a demo run at Laguna this last summer).

Oink,

IIRC your CTS-V has the 2.3 liter Eaton? Do you have headers? What did you end up with? I know of one guy that swapped the 1.9 Eaton that is on my ZL1 for the larger 2.3 supercharger! I'll will begin with headers, pulleys and injectors and a tune.

The road tests I've read indicate the handling is much better than the c6. And stock is all that matters in a test like Randy did.

The Viper sounds good but the Vette just hits a nerve that must go back the childhood or something. That's what a fast car should sound like.

Oink has a CTSV !eek.gif Nice man!

Also I see other guys have sweet rides, very cool!

My neighbor down the street bought a brand new one and he leaves the poor car outside in this crappy weather!

I believe the ZR1 has the 2.3 and the Caddy has the 1.9.

No, the stock pipes are plenty loud...besides, it's a Cadillac.wink.gif

Quote:
What did you end up with?
It is a 2012 Coupe in Raven Black, with black wheels and yellow calipers.

If anyone is interested, I can PM some pics.
Posting them in the thread might pi$$ off the Powers-That-Be.wink.gif

Mine is completely stock, except for a Eibach lowering kit and some cool floor mats with the Cadillac emblem nicely stitched in from Lloyd's Mats.

You can certainly do that with the V.
However, I have learned my lesson regarding modifying new cars.
It just ends up as a money pit and doesn't really affect the re-sale value much.frown.gif

I wouldn't do that.
Shows a lack of respect for the vehicle and not the love one should have for special cars.

The neighbor is a nice guy, but I cringe when I see ice sickles hanging off that pearl bumper.

Oh for those wanting to modify those LSA s/C engines, I have seen some cool NOS plumbed into the s/c that performs nicely! But I do understand about modding something of that expense where you will rarely see a return upon resale.

That, plus finding someone who knows how to install and maintain things is a f_cking nightmare in Oregon.
This state probably has the least modding (unless you're talking about Subarus) in the country.

This article says you have to own 3 previous models to be "eligible" for LaFerrari... Seems much more realistic.

"With just 499 units of the 2014 Ferrari LaFerrari pinned for the production line, it was inevitable that the Italian hypercar would eventually sell out. This is despite the fact that in order for someone to purchase a brand new LaFerrari, they must have a Ferrari collection containing at least three other of the automaker’s past models."

Gotta love the media......conflicting stories.

According to Ferrari North America CEO Marco Mattiacci, any person wishing to purchase a LaFerrari should already own 20 to 30 other Ferraris.

I find it irritating because not everyone has the ability to own cars like that.
IMO, it is a privilege, not a right.

I remember very well what it was like to only dream of having something special in my garage.
Hell, I can remember what it was to dream of having a car....ANY car.wink.gif

I havent even had that many Ferrari posters. Unless its 3 actually. In my room I currently have 2 Ferrari F1 posters, 1 Enzo poster and a 57"x39" Ferrari racing flag.
Oh..also 2 baseball caps and a 1:18 diecast model of Raikkonens 2008 Ferrari.
Yes. I'm single. And happy.

That goes for any car or to find even a shop to do oil changes right. I am a diy guy when it comes to aftermarket stuff on cars but tuning on a dyno requires trust and a great shop.

This is the SC mod that a guy is doing on his ZR1 blower and you see the NOS tubing on the sides.

Here is a video of a stock bottomed end ZR1, DR's and some NOS.

After reading the link below, I am not so sure there will be a ZR1.
Because of new mileage requirements, it likely would be turbo powered, rather than supercharged.

The 620hp and 650lbs. makes me think twin turbos.
Although I suppose it could be a naturally-aspirated 7 liter.
Look at what MB does with their 6.2.wink.gif

I wish but I think the new Z06 will be north of $85K. I priced a 'standard' C7 with the 3LT and Z51 pack, Magnetic Selective Ride control and a few other little options, I am already at $70K.

It will be interesting indeed what the engine config will be. All I know is the C6 Z06 was a kick in the pants at 500hp, the C7 Z06 will be a beast!

If the standard comes out at 70k, maybe it's wiser to pay 15 more for the Z07 and get all that other stuff thrown in with it anyway.wink.gif
