Good news but +1 to your post.

Looking at his weight of 152lbs at 6' tall is pretty skinny as it is, his teammate is 5'11" at 134lbs. I would have to get back to my HS weight just to match his teammates weight!

Most likely the later.

Should RB actually decide to do that, I can't imagine how much dough it would take to buy the team lock, stock, and barrel..eek.gif

All of the good F1 personnel are already working for other teams.
The only way to recruit them is to poach and that costs serious $$$.

For some reason, I think he believes he has a trick up his sleeve: his Indycar people/connections.
We'll see next year....wink.gif

More Newey thoughts:

master designer Adrian Newey has mocked Formula 1′s new engine rules, claiming they have produced slower cars without achieving the intended green goals.

Speaking ahead of Sunday’s Bahrain Grand Prix, Newey — who designed the cars that won Red Bull the past four drivers’ championships — said the new 1.6 liter V6 turbo hybrid engines have increased costs and slowed down the cars for little benefit.

He said the environmental aims of the hybrid engine could have been more efficiently met by reducing the cars’ weight without compromising speed, and that there were more ways to be relevant to commercial car production than fuel efficiency alone.

“The cost has gone up hugely to create this,” Newey said. “If you put that cost into weight saving, you might be better off in many cases, so to automatically say that this is some huge benefit for mankind is taking a bit of a big leap.

“There is a relationship between cost, weight, aerodynamics – all sorts of factors, if you’re going to go into road relevance. How you weigh that, how you proportion it, is impossible for an open-wheeled single-seater. It’s a very different beast.”

The new engines have been criticized both for creating a muted sound, and also for producing a processional style of racing as cars circulate in fuel saving mode to stay under the 100 kilogram per race limit.

“Formula 1 should be about excitement,” Newey said. “It should be about man and machine performing at its maximum every single lap.

“OK, they’re using 50 kilos less fuel (per race) but they’re going a lot slower to achieve that.”

However, rival engineers disagreed with Newey, saying the sport had risked becoming too far removed from normal commercial engines and that the technological innovation should be celebrated rather than criticized.

“There was a great danger … that we would become irrelevant, we would become the focus of gas-guzzling and not having social responsibility,” Williams technical chief Pat Symonds said. “It was really important that we did move away from that.”

Paddy Lowe, the technical chief of Mercedes which has dominated the early stages of the season, was surprised by criticism of the changes.

“I don’t understand it because there are so many positives around this formula,” Lowe said. “For an engine to deliver similar power to last year, with more than 30 percent less fuel consumption, is just an incredible achievement and it’s something we should celebrate

“Our fans like that richness in the sport. So I hope they also appreciate what’s been done on the cars and its sort of relevance to the future in the automotive industry generally.”

Bob Fernley, the deputy chief of Force India, said the efforts to make the engines more relevant to road-car production have already borne fruit.

“Honda are coming in next year and it’s the first time we’ve had another major motor manufacturer coming back into Formula 1 for a long, long time, so that’s a tick in the box that says that actually Formula 1 has got it right,” Fernley said.

“We’re going to find that the fans are going to embrace this as we go on in the years to come.”

The bolded statement above indicates how far out of touch they are with the fanbase. Fans are not complaining that F1 tech is not comparable to what you can buy, and they're not wishing that the engines used less fuel because they want F1 to be 'green'. They WANT the cars to be bad-ass tech monsters and they don't care how much fuel they use.

This stuff is just complete horse crap, and these people need to get a nice whack upside the head with a fan clue-by-four.

Looks like being cast aside isn't such a bad thing. I guess Perez and Masssa landed on their feet. Who thought Massa would be leading both Ferraris?

I think Massa hater (oink) has mentioned this before, but Uni shows the race without commercials. Getting commentary from the BBC website. DC throws in his two cents.

Even you Merc haters have to admit that it was nice to let the two race for first.

I think Pastor was in the wrong, but that is just me.

Nico on soft and Lewis on medium. The start will be interesting. Personally I hate the tire rule.

Personally, I think he should been black flagged and DSQ'd for unsafe driving, but clearly Newey's concerns about the new nose designs has now been proven accurate.

Maybe, maybe not. If not, then #1 status at Merc has been resolved, although I am not sure it was ever really in dispute.

Just to be clear, there were no orders immediately after the safety car, but perhaps for the last 2 or 3 laps? Did Nico just give up?

Excellent battle for the lead. Glad Merc let them race.

Crap move by Vettel to cut off Massa.

I guess Renault has some fight in them after all. Ricc knocked of Hulk. I guess that is why he is in the RB and not Hulk.

+1000.

Straight from his idol's play book. I had zero respect for Vettel after Multi 21, now my respect for him is in negative numbers. Dick move of the year, although it's still early. :-)

I think he got off easy, but I suppose the stupid walrus nose in his car is partly to blame.

Highlight for me:

"Sebastien, Daniel is faster than you. Please let him though".

Perhaps the trick there was the team said "please". :-)

Brilliant race flag to flag, but surely there are tears in Maranello this evening. I can't imagine that someone won't be told that they are not required to show up for work Monday morning.

One great race a season does not make, but hopefully the FIA will let things play out and not do anything stupid to appease the whiners.

Let me add my voice to the Hosannahs for today's Bahrain GP. It was the best F1 race by far I have seen in a looong time. Can't remember when if ever I have seen a 1 2 finish as close as it was between Hamilton and Rosberg. Some equally compelling racing went on in the rest of the field. Whatever the FIA has done wrong with its new rules it appears that now at long last it's actually possible to pass. The only negative I saw in today's race was the way Maldonado's car wedged under Gutierrez and flipped him. The new noses on this year's cars are just plain dangerous. At least Gutierrez's car had enough structural integrity to prevent him from getting hurt. It was very scary anyway.

Yep, 9th and 10th place do not please the Scuderia. Ferrari's lack of speed must be driving the boys nuts. Ferrari cars don't exactly suck but they are mediocre at best.
