I sure hope season 2 really changes a few things. Now with them having no ship I am worried it will be more story lines like the ones on the other island, a lot of talking.

I miss blackbeard already. biggrin.gif

They've got a whole year to build a new one. How hard can it be? tongue.gif

‘Black Sails’ Renewed by Starz for Third Season
By Maane Khatchatourian, Variety.com - Oct. 11, 2014

Starz has renewed its pirate drama “Black Sails” for a third season on the heels of the show’s sophomore return in January.

The early renewal is in line with network practice as it ordered a second season of the Michael Bay-produced series last July six months before a single episode aired on TV. Its debut went on to break Starz ratings records with more than 3.5 million viewers over its premiere weekend. It then averaged 5.3 million total viewers per episode.

“The incredible world that Jon Steinberg and Robert Levine have created continues to unfold in season 2,” Starz managing director Carmi Zlotnik said in a statement. “Flint’s journey is riveting, and around him, Jon and Robert have woven an intricate web of conflict, betrayal, and redemption for the other characters that we believe will keep fans of the show coming back for more.”

“Black Sails” stars Toby Stephens, Hannah New, Luke Arnold and Jessica Parker Kennedy. It joins a skew of shows Starz recently renewed, including the comedy “Survivor’s Remorse” and the dramas “Da Vinci’s Demons,” “Power,” “Outlander,” “The One Percent” and “Flesh and Bone.”

Season two sets sail on January 24.

Second Season Premier : Saturday, Jan. 24 at 9 p.m ET

Features the familiar cast of characters from Season 1, but also a new face in Ned Low ( Tadgh Murphy), captain of The Fancy who was known in real-life pirate lore for his savage and grotesque brutality.

Uncle Willie

Oddball: Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

The whole series is visually appealing; the sea, sky, sailing ships, costumes, actors and sets just seem to pop.

none

Who was that big actor in last season that Vane fought on the wood cutters island, I've seen him somewhere before. The season opener was great!

Great season opener with top notch writing and acting. It covered a lot of current and back story (via the Flint flashbacks) plot lines. Toby Stephens and Luke Arnold really work well together and the sequence aboard the Spanish warship was well played and very funny at times. And of course Max and Anne getting busy didn't hurt. Jessica Parker Kennedy is so intriguing and exotic that Max will probably bed every character in the show before it's done .
