Interesting ... the two families *were* awfully "friendly" back in the day ... perhaps more than one affair went on.

That was her(Vanessa's) mom he was fooling around with, right? or was it someone else?

Correct, it was her mother. The question is, how long had it been going on for, because Vanessa was in her teens when she discovered them. Most affairs don't last that long before someone gets caught.

I really enjoyed the season finale. The production of the show, from writing, to cast, to cinematography and audio is outstanding.

Did anybody take a close look at Ethan's face when we first saw him after he came back from having morphed into Wolfman mode to dispatch the overmatched Pinkerton agents? To me, he looked more like Lon Chaney Jr. in post Wolfman mode than Lon Chaney Jr. did.

+1
along with Orphan Black this has been one of the best shows on TV this year. Eva Green nails the character.

and to Vanessa being Malcolm's daughter, I think there's a strong possibility

I'll definitely be back for next season.

I'm embarrassed to say that this never occurred to me, but it certainly makes a lot of sense.

As he was preparing to kill Mena (or rather creature she had become) she said something like "you'd kill your only daughter?" and Malcolm replied "I already have a daughter!" so I'm guessing you're right about Vanessa.

More importantly, where does this series go next season?

I heard that line too and it puzzled me. If we're right about Vanessa being his actual, illegitimate daughter, seems as though he should have said, "I have another daughter." Unless he was speaking metaphorically in that he thinks of Vanessa as a daughter because he's known her all his life or something along those lines.

Endless possibilities ..... Vampires still out there & wanting Vanessa,
The Bride Of Frankenstein & WolfMan plotlines are still open, The Picture of Dorian Grey has not yet been shown or explored ....

BTW, The original run of ABC's "Dark Shadows" had many of these elements ...
Quentin Collins' Wolfman Curse was "cured" by finding the "(Dorian Grey type) Artist" , who was able to paint a portrait of him, the portriat then aged, scarred & turned into a wolf on the full moon, while he became immortal & free of the curse....
"Adam" was the Monster, & he forced his creator to make Eve ...

Yeah he did look like Lon Jr.'s version didn't he. I most remember his Lawrence Talbot/Wolfman from "Abbot and Costello Meet Frankenstein". Shows how old I am.

Well, the Emmys dropped the ball missing Eva Green's performance. She was that good!

Would she or the show itself even be eligible? .. it just finished.

Oh! I didn't think of the program play date eligibility. And I couldn't find anything about that.

Finishing isn't important. When it starts is. Don't know the rules, in that only the episodes that were aired within the eligible dates can be submitted. You'd have to go to the Emmy website to find that out.

Apparently Madame Kali(woman in the tub) will be the main baddie this season. She's played by the spectacular Helen McCrory.

The only thing I remember from the movie is the breathtaking Rachel Hurd-Wood! But yes, Dorian Gray cannot die unless someone would destroy the painting.

Interesting info.

I am really looking forward to the new season.
While the writing and plotting (especially) needs to be improved, the characters and, particularly, the acting has been great.

Swine are good people too.
