Yup, the more likely explanation.
I don't understand why writers of TV sci-fi are so scientifically-challenged (most anyways).rolleyes.gif

I'm done, fellas.
I got 3/4 thru the 2nd episode and couldn't take it anymore.

The plot holes are big enough to fly a spaceship thru.

The characters are so unrealistic, I wondered whether or not the series was a deliberate send-up of the genre.

I forgot to set it to record after 'Arrow' this week. Wasn't bummed in the slightest. So I guess I'm out too. If the whole show was set on the space station then I'd probably stick with it, for awhile at least. But a Lord of the Flies remake -- not interested.

Too much other stuff that's clearly better, and only so many hours in a day. 'Fargo' on deck! From the promos and with that cast, it looks terrific.

Trust me here....LOTF is pure Shakespeare compared to this teen turd.

uh oh, not a good sign, since you & I both follow SF shows wink.gif was I right, Terra Nova clone? tongue.gif
your reaction sounds like mine on Reign, I didn't get past ~20 min on 1st ep.

I have 2 eps of this dvr'd & recording this week's but won't get to watch any until next weekend at earliest. by then GoT starts so this may get ditched.

another dumbed-down written SF show I don't need to waste time on.

I didn't get that far...the trailers turned me off.

I think you hit it on the nail-head: "dumbed down."

The concept here is a good one IMO....it is possible to make something very riveting with the idea of re-populating the planet from space.
Unfortunately, the writing is atrocious and the show is really aimed at teenagers.

Bring on GoT!!!!!
I'm all fired up.smile.gif

Yeah I was close to bailing on this episode. The kids sitting around for an entire day and nobody brings up the lack of food or water until it magically appears is just stupefying.

"We need to build fences!" - no you really need to find water and food. Especially if you are burning calories building lame fences against people who can spear you from 300 feet. You have an armored bunker right behind you idiots. You already have shelter and protection.

Death toll unchanged. mad.gif

Yeah, if this week's episode doesn't radically change for the better it will be my last one, there's just too much illogical silliness going on to stay engaged with it.

You missed the only redeeming moment in this episode. The man in scary iron war mask sitting in a tree, watching the idiots below. And hopefully killing and eating them ASAP.

So much for your stupid fences, Teen Idiots.

With the show titled to be focused on the kids on the ground, and with me FF past most of the ground scenes, this Wednesday's episode may be my last, too.

That was easily the best part of the episode and it lasted all of maybe 30 secs.

You mean budget Predator? All we need is for Dolph Lundgren to show up as a tough guy named "Arnold Braunschweiger".

Actually, the real answer would be that is what real women are for. The effect is in fully immersive 3D, too.

The problem is, this is the Audio Visual SCIENCE forum, where the females are a bit outnumbered (not that they don't exist here, it's just they tend to hide).

The result is, there are plenty of guys that spend way too much time calibrating and testing their.....devices...

I would believe if 1000 years had passed, but in 97 years the Earth's creatures evolved or de-evolved so much?

I bet that panther animal tastes like chicken because the teens were enjoying it so much..

At least they found some water, did I see some swimming? again, when did they learn to swim?

I have to admit, I was getting ready to dump the show after I finished watching this last episode - then I got to the end. The last scene earned the show another week out of me...

Yes, finally, moved on from teenage petting to something more interesting, or several, including:

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
  • A deadly glowing cloud storm (what was that?),
  • what appeared to be a severe allergic reaction to something on the planet (I kept on thinking, give him massive Bennadryl doses!),
  • and who betrayed the girl's father.

Last week I kept the FF down to keep from being bored, but this week most of the FF was just for the commercials. So, for now, the show remains on my schedule.

The ending was brutal and totally unexpected. It made jump right out of my seat. That's the way to end an episode.eek.gif

Oh, and by the way, I think that particular plot point was done much better on this show than on

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
The Walking Dead

...as much as I hate to admit it...

> It appeared to be a radioactive duststorm, at least that's what I assumed it was.
> Adam had the appearance of being exposed to heavy doses of radiation, no doubt from the duststorm that he couldn't find cover from. (no amount of Benadryl is going to fix that! biggrin.gif )

> Who betrayed Clarke's father? I thought it was implied that it was the mother, but Wells let her think it was him to save her from the anguish that it was her own mother.
