Been watching 2-3 episodes a nite to catch up. So far I've found it to be well done and glad I found it. Anyone know if this is a one and done series?

Personally, I'm loving this show... Simcoe is a bit cartoonish/cliche but otherwise the acting is excellent. Anybody know how its doing in the ratings. Surely it can't be that expensive to produce. Other than period costumes and some pretty basic musket wounds it's not heavy on the special effects or elaborate sets. The dialog is pretty compelling although on a few occasions I've found it somewhat audibly muddled. Like during Benjamin Tallmadge's march in last night's episode. I hate having to jack up the volume to hear character conversations. Despite that, I hope it gets picked up for a second season. I'm curious to see if the rebels manage to win the war. tongue.gif

Even when I turn up the volume I still can't get what they said so I turn on my close captioning feature.

I like Turn a lot too and look forward to each week's episode. The British officers fascinate me, particularly Lieutenant Simcoe and Major Hewlett. They are examples of what I think of as typical 18th Century British Army officers. In those years, titled families routinely sent their least promising sons to the army, which resulted in officers who were arrogant, had an overblown sense of entitlement, and had either dim wits or a psychopathic streak. Hewlett, who is dumber than rocks, and Simcoe, who is bonkers, are typical of the times, I fear. smile.gif

I routinely use closed captioning on any show thick with English accents, like is easier that way.

No word yet. The ratings haven't been great...but they're better than that new computer programmer series so who knows. AMC can't cancel every new show that doesn't measure up..

I am certainly glad I recorded all of the episodes of this excellent series. It took me a while to get started, but then I was hooked big time. I finally got caught up by binge watching 2-3 episodes at a time and viewed last night's show "live." Simcoe is truly a villain you love to hate. Finally, I can't believe there seem so few of us (on this forum) watching the show.

There may not be many of us watching this show (because there's so much other worthy fare on right now), but I'll bet there are plenty of us with episodes stockpiled (since the second ep for me). I'm planning on turning onto 'Turn' for a binge in another week or so.

Ditto .. with winter yard cleanup, general Spring / Summer activities, etc .. I've been hard pressed to keep up with the material that I regularly watch, much less the new material .. not to mention I ended up with DVR conflicts that caused TURN to not be recorded so I had to piece it together at random .. now, with GOT almost over, Silicon Valley done, etc .. I need to dig in ..

Hell, I've not even started the last season of Hannibal yet ..

And if you're a baseball fan it's even worse as 6 out of every 7 games are usually in the evening.

The finale was good last nite. Is this series one and done or will it come back?

Finally got to watch the last two episodes... Really enjoy this show. These last two episodes were great! I hope it gets picked up for another season or more.

Does Simcoe remind anyone else of the Swede from Hell On Wheels?

Thanks for the link. Just finished reading through it.

There's some other q&a's with the actors linked below that article if y'all are interested.

AMC hasn't said anything but the Governor of VA announced yesterday that they're coming back to the state to film season 2.
