Some episodes of Helix were also < 40 minutes. Siffy has low standards on multiple fronts.

I haven't watched the second episode yet, but one thing I don't understand is why in the pilot, it was clearly shown there are a ton of bad angels out there based on the shot of them streaming out of the enemy fortress, yet they only send 3 to attack Vega. They had the perfect opportunity with everyone distracted by the 8 ball and the child Angel, yet don't do a full assault?

Granted, I realize that the show would be over if they killed everyone, but it seemed like a huge plot hole.

Of course, having the rebellious punk be the chosen one and the fiance being a traitor wasn't a cliche at all.....

They're going to have to do better than that if they're going to keep me as a viewer.

It's almost like the plot of "Kings" ... in fact I think "rebellious punk" is even played by the same actor from "Kings." ... time to do some IMDB research.

This is one show that so far Syfy has the episode available for viewing the following day and on Hulu as well though it seems to get posted a little later on Friday.

This is the real problem. The idea that the human race is in danger of extinction and chosen punk is going to be all mopey and sullen because his dad left him and piss on the angel who happen to save the human race is a bit much to take. Waah, the nuns hit me with a ruler. I'll run away and see if anyone cares. Good gawd.

Every time I see this same plot, all I hear in my head is "The Jedi don't respect me - waaah, I'm going to the dark side....!"

How do such whiny little brats evolve to be any sort of badass?

Worse than "The Following" which had a great cast at least. I'm done.

I'm liking it too.
It's a summer show- turn your brain off and enjoy some of the scantily clad beautiful women they seem to have on every so often.

Look at it another way- compared to "Under the Dumb" this show's brilliant!

I'm still on the ledge with this one. There are a lot of cliches which make things difficult. Really hate the leaders of Vega who seem to do incredibly stupid things just to move the plot along. The more the show concentrates on them, the more chance I will bail.

Heads up D* Folks ... those who are still recording

Check your series manager now. There's a fair chance that your DVR will miss this week's episode (7/31/14.)

Can't believe Thursday is the season finale. Talk about a short season.

Happy this was a 1.5 hour season finale. Although with all the commercials it seemed like only 45 min of content. I like this show and hope it gets renewed for another season.

I thought it was one of better summer shows. Thought it was well acted and certainly a fan of the eye candy.

The twists in the show are not very good. Alex doesn't kill Gabriel because he tells Alex that Clare is pregnant? I don't think so. Michael goes off his rocker conveniently. I haven't decided whether to stick with this. Like Merlin, I keep praying that the Anthony Stewart Head character gets killed. He is playing the same arrogant idiot.

Oh the humanity. You didn't like Sharknado 2 and now this. Well there's always PBS for ya.

Nah. I don't go for that highfalutin stuff neither. I did really like the first ep of The Knick and also Garfunkel & Oates though.

Had to look The Knick up. See it's on Skinemax. Which sadly I don't have. Are you talking about Art Garfunkel and John Oates together? Lol. And you didn't like Sharknado 2?

Garfunkel & Oates: (a lot is nsfw)

They now have a show (just started on Thursday on IFC)

It was an hour and two minutes.

I hated the way it ended. I do not expect the cliffhange to be resolved, as I do not expect a second season.

If you were to watch it on say Vudu, with no commercials, it's 63 minutes. When watching the broadcast version with commercials it's 90 minutes.

I have to admit that the ending wasn't really a literal cliffhanger since his had, after all, finished climbing the cliff and was about to enter Gabriel's fortress.

Sorry, I should have said that it was without commercials. It is 1 hr, 2 min and some change.

I was responding to the post about it seeming to only be 45 minutes long. I guess that point was lost in translation.

My bad. The "seemed like 45 minutes" was my not so funny attempt at humor.
