US Open Tennis 2014

I had to double check to make sure that there actually was no thread for this event. Great matches!

Men's semi will be on CBS this Saturday noon to six. Does anybody remember if they move to ESPN or extend the coverage on CBS if the matches go over six (I bet they will)? If they move it to ESPN, will it be on ESPN2? I can't remember what they usually do. I'd appreciate any info, so I can set up the DVR right.

I would think that Djokovic has the easier path the the finals than Federer. Federer survived a pretty badly played quarters although perhaps the wind contributed. Usuallly Fed plays really well until the finals. Maybe this is a good omen for him.

Jerry. Just remember. Its not a lie . . . if you believe it. GC

Novak, is the favorite, as he should be. He has been overwhelmed by crowds and conditions before though,

I think its Fed's year after so many recent close calls. Last nights match against Monfils was one of the best of the tourney so far. FYI I got to attend my first US Open match this year last Sat night for the 7pm Arthur Ashe session (Bouchard/Strycova and Kyrigos/Robredo.) Such an amazing experience and a classy venue.

I envy you. I hear that watching this type of tennis is much more amazing live. I thought that Kyrgios had a chance to break through this tourney. I guess not yet.

While it's not the U.S. Open, I went to the Sony Open last year in the middle of the first week for the night session. It had rained earlier in the afternoon, so a lot of the day matches were still being played on the smaller courts. We took the opportunity to sit in the stands right next to the courts to watch some of the lower ranked players compete. We watched Eugenie Bouchard, Monica Puig, Shahar Peer, and a few of the *ovas and *ovics. We even saw Martina Hingis and Darrin Cahill in the stands. Of course, I didn't have a pen on me.

We didn't even bother to stay in the Stadium Court even though, we had tickets. But we were able to catch James Blake's last appearance in Miami before retiring.

Oh, and GO FED!!!

CBS should have exclusive coverage of the men's and women's singles semi-finals and finals. ESPN has college football all-day Saturday*, so they can't air any matches.

*ESPN is literally using every network they have (ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPNews, and SEC Network) for college football all afternoon Saturday. How they're supposed to air both men's semifinals next year when they have exclusive rights to the entire tournament is beyond me.

Thank you for feedback. I was wondering if I get any feedback at all. I hope they don't move it to CBSSN. I can't watch it in HD with my provider.

>How they're supposed to air both men's semifinals next year...
That doesn't sound good.
