Survivor : Worlds Apart CBS HD Feb 25th, 2015

Survivor : Worlds Apart CBS HD Feb 25th, 2015

This is the third all-new Contestant season in a row (cheers) .. and since it's the 30th Season (if you can believe that) .. I'm sure there was a temptation to bring in the so called "All Stars" ..

I think it may be an interesting Season .. The White Collar, The Blue Collar and the No Collar theme is a great idea, IMO .. a tribal division similar to society .. The blue collar tribe features those in the middle class who are working from paycheck to paycheck. And the no collar tribe includes people who have paved their own way for success, artist-types who don't necessarily play by the rules. Divided into 3 Tribes of 6.

Interesting quote from Probst about the season in this Q&A:

Quote:
You listed your Top Ten Survivor Winners of All Time. Obviously, it’s way too early for you to be specific, but where do you think this season’s winner will ultimately fit in the mix? When the dust settles on Worlds Apart, what kind of conversation are we having about the winner?

I think you’re right, that it’s with an asterisk — we have to see how it all plays out — but it would not surprise me if the winner of Season 30 became one of the favorite winners of all time. I do think when this season is over, the audience will feel that whoever has won has absolutely earned it, and this is a very good season of Survivor played very hard by very good players. That’s why I like this group. They play. There is no monkeying around. There won’t be anyone saying, “Well, there wasn’t really any strategy this year…” No. There’s strategy from the get go.

Probst was on the late late show and he had some really good behind the scenes of what goes on (not spoilers but more on how the camp works and things that have happened to him) was pretty interesting if you can catch it on-line.

Thanks for the link ron. If this season is close to Cagayan in entertainment and strategy it will be a winner. Hour and a half premiere too that should be good.

Why do they always get rid of the hot women first? She was really good looking. Oh well, I don't see that tribe lasting to long anyway.

That larger guy with the beard on the blue collar sure seems like a hot head ready to explode, I don't see him making it much longer either.

Nice come back from the blue collar tribe. They were way behind and caught up nicely. Not sure the whole 50 pieces is the easiest speech. That is a lot of pieces to be arranged properly to form words, have the blanks spaced properly, etc.

Yes, she was mighty fine.

In hindsight, she got a ton of camera time for a first episode, which is probably akin to being a Star Trek redshirt crew member.

Anyone else notice the fantastic spelling by Joaquin? He spelled Carolyn, Chereline. At least I think that was the proper way he butchered it.

Enjoyable first episode of Survivor with a fun cast. Interesting how Joe has taken the leadership role in the No Collar tribe without making enemies. It was Joe who stepped in when Vince was building the shelter wrong. It was Joe who was able to start fire without even breaking a sweat. It was Joe who won the immunity challenge single handedly by untying the knots and solving the puzzle.Yet Joe reminds me of Malcolm in that he seems really likeable. The only person right now who might target Joe is Vince and that's because he thinks Jen likes Joe more then him.

Some Thoughts:

A) When are these people going to learn not to blert out "I have the Idol" to the 1st person that comes over to talk to them ??
B) Again, I was fairly sure about who was getting voted out about half way thru the show, when all the spliced in "interview / recap" scenes of her showed her very clean & shampooed, & wearing nice jeans as she talked about the events unfolding ...
They really have to stop these built-in "Spoilers" ...

True, I think that the white-collar team got screwed by picking the wrong puzzle. I was expecting something like they have done before of put the numbers 1-50 in order by number. I think the one they had was far form "easy".

Intelligent move on the blue team to pick the same puzzle as the no-collar team so that they could copy.

I knew she was too beautiful to last!

Fortunately, underneath she was not so pretty.

Took pride in making her co-workers cry, etc.

P.S. That guy eating the scorpion, then vomiting was classic!

Actually, for the past few years now, the producers have decided what the contestants are going to wear when on the island. John Cochran has said that he has never owned a buttoned cardigan sweater in his life, but the the producers made him wear it to push the nerdy intellectual angle on him.
