'Zoo' on CBS

Zoo is based on the best-selling novel of the same name by James Patterson.

Quote:
Violent animal attacks upon humans are occurring all over the world. Jackson Oz, an American zoologist who offers
safaris in Africa, begins to notice the animals' strange behavior and takes it upon himself to solve the reason why
before these attacks become more coordinated and ferocious.
Series premieres Tuesday, June 30 at 9/8c CBS

Agree. This could be fun. I like the haunting version of Steppenwolf's song in the trailer too.

I've seen this before (Day of the Animals), except I think it was a theater release in the 70s. I didn't actually see it, but remember reading the book as a kid. If this series is based on a fairly recent novel, methinks someone got ripped off. Oh well..

If this had been six episodes I might watch, but based on the majority of mediocre reviews the show is getting I'll pass. I've got too much of a backlog and would rather be outdoors to stick with this for 13 eps.

Plus I saw Jurassic World last week and an entire show with only off-camera animal attacks seems a bit weak now.

This might replace Under the Dome for me, I've kind of grown tired of that show (especially after that premiere) so I need a new trainwreck. .

One and done for me. I don't feel it was that bad but just too much other better TV to watch
BTW I was one of those who stick with Under The Dome for the entire first season but that was it, never again, in hindsight it should have also been a one and done.

So did Under the Dome, it's a shame these shows have to get beaten into the ground instead of actually ending when they should.

I watched it this morning, and I enjoyed this first episode. I was disappointed in the previews for next week since they spoil some of the suspense built up in this episode.

The animals are well done.

If the lions (and housecats too, apparently) are going to hunt and kill people in cities, what will they do when their intended prey... you know... goes indoors?

Drats! No opposable thumbs to turn doorknobs with! Stupid evolution!!!

I guess they'll have to team up with monkeys.

Oh man, I can't believe this actually got greenlit to go on the air.

Lol. Yeah, this show really requires a suspension of disbelief. I like some of the cast and will stay with it awhile longer.

This is also the network with Under the Dome and Extant, so nothing is surprising anymore.

As for the animals, I guess they can beat the door down or gang up with other animals.

Even by that standard, this is really a staggering new low.

Extant. Ugh! Now that's a show that's hard to get thru. I'll tune in tonight just to see how they deal with the Lawnmower Man ending of last season. CBS should put the Zoo animals and Extant cast in with the dome and have a battle royal. It can even be a PPV event. Will bring in Mayweather/Pacquiao kinda green.

Judging by their record, they could keep popping out new shows each season unfortunately.

1.2 with 8M viewers - any bets on how many stick around for week 2?

They should have had Bear McCreary write some good theme music to be performed by Cat Stevens. And hire a good narrator - Wolf Blitzer maybe?

If the pattern holds, about a 0.4 drop?

S1: 3.3 - 2.9
S2: 2.1 - 1.7
S3: 1.3 - ?

It's just silly to expect wild animals to put that much effort into hunting for food as if somehow they are executing some sort of animal vengeance on us. Animals don't work that way.

Not gonna bother.
The concept sounds like just another attempt to demonize animals and feed the paranoia of the ignorant.

I haven't watched yet, but I thought the premise was more to demonize humans for destroying the animals' habitat (and the environment in general)?

Dunno, in the show, the animals seem to be only actively going after the humans instead of each other.

My god, Parade magazine(comes in most Sunday papers) had a question about the lead actor in this series. They started by stating Zoo was their "favorite new summer show"
And I got a kick out of an advertisement for Zoo during CBS's Sunday Morning Show stating "The number one new show" (or something to that effect) of course this was on CBS......either we're in the minority here or everyone else is bonkers
