Nascar on NBCSN

Picture quality sucks. IMHO

Why are the voices out of sync with the video?

Looks like a Kung Foo movie.

Wow, Carl Edwards threw away the championship! Congrats to JJ. He has to be in the conversation for best Nascar driver ever.

Was just fine for me- Directv channel 5 out of Dallas. If Carl didn't try and block him he knew he was done as far as getting the Championship.Had to roll the dice and see what came up.

I disagree. He was the fastest car on the track. Even if Logano had gotten by him, Edwards could have chased him down. That move gift wrapped another championship for JJ, who was the least competitive of the four to that point in the race.

Totally agree, Carl blew that championship. He's going to have a long winter.

Saw that Roush kicked Biffle to the curb, no big surprise here. Probably time for him to think about retiring.

Roush is pretty much out of sponsors. I can't see that team being around much longer.

Wow, I didn't realize Biffle had been around that long or was that old. He hasn't really done much the last three years, but to be fair either has Stenhouse.

It took Edwards around 11 laps to get by Logano the previous restart. I think Carl had no choice but to lay down all his cards right there. Didn't work.

I thought he was Massa like with his graciousness in defeat though. Pretty classy. If he should blame anyone it would be NASCAR. I had a feeling NASCAR was in no hurry as they were getting the early viewers of FNIA.

I lost respect for Biffle when Boris Said put the fear of god into him. He was running his trap non-stop until he realized he picked the wrong fight with the wrong guy. "He needs a frickin whoopin, and I'm gonna give it to him."

You mean the "cawshun is out!" bs? It is why I don't watch Nascar that much anymore. The whole race is about setting up the last five or ten laps. Usually some loser in the rear wrecks and then you have the "shootout". Edwards and Logano were the best cars on Sunday, but their race was ruined by "cawshun is out".

I actually thought Larson had the best car but I don't think most non-chasers are comfortable being in the mix at the end. Maybe if he had a big lead but I don't think they want to be a deciding factor in who takes the championship. Seems like every year the final four are up front.

heh, "cawshun" along with Snowco Fuel, Green Flag Back In The Air, and Impordant are all aural irritants.

It really pissed me off when they threw that late caution for the guy who MOVED DOWN OUT OF THE WAY when he had a tire issue. You see this over and over with them and it really screwed Carl out of the championship. He even mentioned it at the end. There are WAY too many questionable cautions at the end of races, all because NASCAR wants more WWE and less drivers winning races that they dominate.

Wow, NASCAR really is going all WWE now. Every race broken up into three segments like the All-star race, interviews and extra time to waste on commercials, who cares about actually winning a race from start to finish anymore?

People have the attention span of gnats nowadays.

NASCAR’s latest just another bad mistake

"NASCAR is nuts!

For the fourth time in 13 years, stock car racing’s governing body has changed the way it will decide a season champion. And if you thought Chase versions I, II and III were confusing, this new system is mind-bogglingly convoluted.
The only thing that makes any sense is that NASCAR, after 13 seasons of denying it has an annual playoff, has decided to call its last 10 races a playoff.
Seriously, NASCAR?

Let’s see, race attendance has collapsed the past decade and television ratings are in a free-fall. But rather than address the real problems facing the sport, let’s create another scoring system that none of your fans asked for and few will understand...."

I usually don't pay attention till we get to Feb.

I glanced at the new system and not sure I fully get it, but whatever. There was a five percent drop in revenue, so I guess they are scrambling. If they wanted to modify the playoff, then why not cut it in half? Start with 16 drivers and the have 8 drivers run for the title in the final five races.

I think there's a typo in the thread title. It's supposed to be "NASCAR on MSNBC", right?

Who gets the announcing duties, Joe Scarborough or Rachel Maddow?

No, NBCSN. You don't watch, don't try to be funny.

You're right. I don't watch much. Only Daytona and maybe the course at Watkins Glen. I'm one of the occasional viewers that NASCAR wanted to attract a decade or so ago when they were trying to give the sport a broader appeal.

NASCAR is OK as long as there aren't too many cars on the track and as long as the drivers are not taking unwarranted risks, causing too many crashes and bringing out caution flag after caution flag.
