OK, I'll bite:
Where exactly did you grab that from?
Was it an email or a web site?
I haven't received an email from DirecTV and their web site doesn't have it.

Sorry, the rest of my post must have gotten cut off. This is from the DirecTv website, HDTV page. But, it is commented out so you need to view the source.

OK, that's legit enough for me. I've seen it with my own eyes.
It's right above the part about NBATV-HD, which reads as follows:
<strong>NBA TV is Larger than Life on HDTV</strong><br><br> Want to see the greatest
NBA stars and teams up-close? NBA TV presents NBA action in High-Definition
during a special free* preview every day from now until May 31, 2003.<br><br>
Just tune to channel 198, Monday-Friday, 4-6 p.m. (ET) and Saturdays and
Sundays, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. (ET), to experience NBA action like never before.
It's so real, you can almost touch it! <br><br>*FREE for DIRECTV residential customers.

Its true, its in the HDTV page source. No need to delete the post. So we get ESPN HD, Discovery HD and HDNet Movies. Sounds great to me, just turn them on already! :D

my only question for mythical_phenix is:
Do you spend a lot of time looking at page sources or did you just stumble on this?

To sum up for people who may not be able to read it easily...

YOU LOVE WATCHING HDTV CHANNELS, NOW GET PREPARED TO WATCH MORE!
New to the DIRECTV HD line-up are ESPN HD, Discovery HD Theater and HDNet movies.
Pricing and packaging information coming soon. Make sure you have the right equipmen to view them.

I assume they are refering to the ability to see 110

I looked at it a couple of months ago on a whim. Saw the Masters stuff commented out and thought, hmmm, maybe some other nuggets will appear here in the future, also commented out. So I've checked it every morning for the past two months. Finally, something interesting. It will probably be the last, though...

You would be really suprised what you see hiding on html when you look at it. As a software developer my guess is that the web guys are getting ahead of themselves so that all they have to do is remove the comments and they are done - ahead of schedule.

This is an excellent find

Someone stepped on the ol' crank pretty hard, huh? Curious to know when this was supposed to become public knowledge.

Are we months away from actually seeing these channels?

Ken, any leaks from your sources, now that the cat is out of the bag?

I can't find the page you guys are referring to.

The link to the Directv's HDTV page is
http://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/imagine/HDTV.jsp

There is no mention to NBA and I can't view the source.

Now if it is 10 dollars a month it looks like the post at tvpredictions was dead on correct and the other guy was both obnoxious and completely wrong.

If a station is broadcasting and no-one can receive them, then are they broadcasting?

I can't believe that mythical_phenix actually looked at the page source everyday! That's great news, though. I wonder how soon it will actually show up on the web page.
