DOWN WITH MERCEDES!!!!!!!!!

Ricciardo FTW!!!!!

I hope the new cars make it more fun to watch instead of 1 or 2 teams blowing everyone else away. Who's with me?!

Actually, no worries about the Scuderia. They have identified the problem. It's that whiney German bitch and the alcoholic Finn that are holding them back.

http://www.espn.co.uk/f1/story/_/id/...-scrutiny-2017

Mr. Marchionne is pretending he is Enzo Ferrari, except Enzo could threaten his drivers because he was on occasion able to give his driver's competitive cars. Perhaps in 2017 they will prove that spaghetti culture can indeed produce a winning car.

Actually, I would be thrilled if there were a second team that could fight for wins without needing the Kraut squad cars to take each other out.

Gotta root for a RED car dammit!!!!!

While I am on the subject of a red car, colors should be mandated to make F1 better on the eyes. I loved the Caterham green color, plus we need some neon colors, some yellow cars, some orange cars, etc.

Anyway, i was just about to post in the 2016 thread that we need a new thread for 2017, and here we are!!! Now i need some racing, i hate this time of year, i am in double withdrawal, no F1 races and no baseball, i cant stand it!!!!!!

never take life seriously

First year since the early 1980's that I didn't watch much F1 after the first few races when it became clear is was a Mercedes' series. F1 has become too boring, 9 times out of 10, whoever wins qualifying usually determines who will win the race. Hopefully changes are coming for the 2017 season, but I'm finding Indycar and IMSA to be much more enjoyable series to watch.

Only 31 days until the 24 Hours of Daytona!

I think racing series organizers must have been dropped on the head as a child. Why does no one schedule any races in January / February??? If I was in charge of IndyCar they'd start the week after the SuperBowl. Plenty of places to go that are warm enough in February.

Ferrari is out of control. The car isn't getting any better, they alienate the one guy that was doing something about it. They're going to pass on Lowe because he's a "Foreign Mercenary". Sergio is out of his element but he's SO powerful that nobody will say a thing. It sucks because their PU is right there. They just can't keep tires on the thing.

Kimi and Vettel don't strike me as people that would respond very favorably to Serg's brand of motivation. I'd love to know what Schuey would have thought about this.

It IS a shame how porky all these cars have become. If I was in the market for a toy, I would consider the Alfa 4C. 2500lbs, NO power steering, and IMO more Ferrari spirit than the current Ferraris. Of course they aren't selling well at all. People now want more "stuff" crammed into their cars.

Honestly, I tend to agree.
One of the reasons the 288 GTO is my favorite. Not crazy that its a twin turbo V8 instead of a V12 but thats ok.
Dont really care for the looks of the F40.

A fun track toy to be sure, but aren't these the cars that do not actually have a frunk, trunk, or any other storage? One would need more than a tooth brush for a weekend getaway, and lacking storage for even an overnight bag would be a bit of a deal killer for a lot of potential buyers, I suspect.

I always wonder what Enzo would have thought about the La Ferrari. " Get those electric motors out of my car and then grab your **** and GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE."

Actually, it's a GT car, not a sports car.

Heavy is here to stay, due to safety, noise deadening, creature comforts and technology. Many decades from now when exotic materials are semi affordable, we will be able to get some cars that aren't so porky.

While you are probably right, I've always been impressed by the reviews from the "purists" that thought they would hate the hypercars and then came away extremely impressed by the implementation of the current technology after driving the cars.

That's one of the main stand outs from all of the "Holy Trinity" comparisons that I have read. Regardless of performance numbers, a large portion of reviewers have chosen the Ferrari just because of the emotion it invokes while driving it. The P1 and 918 are extremely impressive vehicles, but they are both considered "sterile" when compared to the driving experience of the LaFerrari. So Enzo could at least be proud of that.
