"Genius" on Nat'l Geographic

I have been enjoying this National Geographic series. The science is way over my head, but the acting and scenery are outstanding. It is just well done in my opinion. Just wondering if any one else has watched.

I'm watching and enjoying it as well. Often when I hear his name I think of the actor Albert Brooks whose real name is Albert Einstein.

Yes, following this excellent series as well. It's sure dipping into his private life, unlike the many documentaries on him that cover his theories and even his brain physical characteristics. NYT review -- John

I've been enjoying it. I have no idea how accurate it is though.

So far, so very good
entertaining to the max and hopefully assuringly accurate . .

he is still just a man . .

unlike "Selfridge", a PBS goodie that took liberties and "lost it"

An observation . . .

I've run "this' past a number of people who watched the series and nobody caught this subtlety. .

In an early episode "Upstart Al" dumps the pencil box onto the floor and , in the ensuing "discussion",

there is a line wherein he argues that the probability of the pencils returning to their original configuration in the box can be calculated . .

Flash forward to his death scene . .

He is holding a pencil, and as he dies, it falls to the floor . . .

That pencil will never be returned to his hand . .

It's such a powerfully simple and beautifully portrayed "symmetry " . .

What are the chances we'll ever see a pencil in the hand of another Einstein ? . .

anybody else see / appreciate this ?

I didn't draw that connection. I took it more as them trying to show he was still sharp and working when he died.

Genius was renewed for a second season. The subject this time is Pablo Picasso.
