I didn't search the forum to see if there was already a thread....
Time to pay homage to the Greatest Gameshow of All Time!
I recognize that not everyone "gets it".
A big part of it for some of us is simple nostalgia- watching TPIR since the 70's during summer vacations or school sick days/holidays.
Something about seeing a show unchanged (recent set style/color updates and Barker retiring notwithstanding) since your childhood- TPIR is careful about preserving their "Carnival" game pieces unchanged, like Holy Relics- Cliffhanger, Hole In One, BullsEye, Plinko, Lucky 7, etc.
I have often proclaimed that TPIR encapsulates everything about American/capitalist culture (good or bad) in one show. If a foreigner needs to get up to speed about American culture quickly, tell them to watch a week of TPIR
It remains one of the only regular gameshows that takes unprepared people off the street to play, unprepped & undressed beforehand like the Jeopardy's, Wof"s, and FF's of the world.
Pony up your props and memories of TPIR...
