There, I said it.

As if last Sunday night wasn't bad enough, tonight (Tuesday) at 9 PM EDT there will be five, count 'em five, HD programs from which to choose: ABC, CBS, PBS, HDNet, HBO. (And also analog 'Frasier'.)

It seems, and actually was, just a few days ago that we were complaining of not enough HD.

It appears that selectivity will now be in order. I think that I can handle it.

Showtime is all upconverts tonight, as usual, so I don't think it counts.

It will be nice when Vegas has more than one HDTV station!

It's not HD. It's HBO.

AWESOME! Now if only our local PBS (KOPB) would publish a schedule for their HD channel, I would be in heaven. The only way to find out what's on is to tune it in, so I am always missing something good. The good news is, they repeat everything often enough to catch it another time.

You measure your TV in INCHES? How cute! 9.16 Ft Diagonally, Yeah, Baby!

A good reason to buy a HDTV VCR when they come out. Of course you need firewire or DVI connections on your set. I expect to add the Mitsubishi Promise Module and get a Mitsubishi HDTV VCR next year. I also expect to buy an Echostar HDPVR-921 when it comes out next year.

I have DISH so I cannot get HDNet. I watched CBS HDTV on DISH from New York from 6PM to 9PM and Denver OTA ABC HDTV from 9PM to 10PM. All times Mountain. Getting the eastern CBS feed lets me start one hour earlier. and then get ABC at the local time.

We have to get used to conflicting HDTV shows, just like NTSC.
