Email from Comcast today:
Thank you for contacting Comcast Cable.

We have received your email regarding the addition of ESPN2 in the HD format. We appreciate your interest.

We're very excited about the potential addition of programming in the HD format, and while we do not have agreements with all programmers that would allow us to carry their HD programming, we continue to have discussions with a number of them in the hopes of reaching an agreement to carry their signals. Please be assured that we will notify our customers once ESPN2 becomes available in HD.

I guess what BSchneider is trying to tell us, he could give us the lowdown on everything but then he'd have to kill all of us.

Could I settle for a few good hints and just be a little sick for a few days?

I've heard that rumor about TNT-HD, but have never heard anything about Starz-HD (or any other HD movie networks missing from D*)

Can I blame you for starting this rumor? :D

Comcast sent me the same e-mail when I asked them when were they going to get Discovery HD or any other HD channel. Less than a week after, they added The Discovery HD channel and to this day havn't notified me about anything.

HD ON THE BRAIN!!

Newsflash: No E* is not the ideal satellite service to have if sports is your top priority

No NFL Network and now no ESPN2 HD. I may have to at least consider switching to satisfy my sports appetite.

Jeez, what's the friggin' big deal with the Channel? Has D* discovered a new number? Are they instituting complex channels (e.g. ESPN2-HD is on 73+2i)? :)

Now that WOULD require a new STB.

I'll calm down. I didn't realize the Press Conference hasn't happened yet (I somehow thought it was 12Noon EST). I guess I can understand if they want to keep this (psssst, shhhhh) NUMBER secret until then. Ooooooooh!

I'll reserve ridicule for after the conference. :)

Well, complex channel numbers ARE something to think about, no? (I guess that would be subchannels).

Wouldn't it be funny if it launches tomorow or next week or something, technically the press release doesn't say when D* will launch it ;)

Let's keep in mind too that there is nothing on DirecTV's website that mentions ESPN 2-HD.

Odds are we're not seeing it tonight.

Nice lineup, but how is your cable internet?:D I did notice no TNT-HD.

I can bash them as they have a HD package in Huntington, WV but my system which is 20 miles away doesn't. My system was completely rebuilt 3 years ago while Huntington is a cable plant mess. And my cable internet went down every other day until I saw the light and got DSL.

Still a nice lineup.

Please do not send me PM's asking for software! You will not get it.

Yea, that is a nice lineup. Just wish mine was that nice. Too bad CableONE waits 5 years to add new stations/technology, even though they are the #9 size MSO.

Here is my lineup:

HBO-HD
Showtime-HD
ESPN-HD
TheMovieChannel-HD
TNT-HD
KFME-HD (PBS)

Unfortunatley, the local ABC, FOX, NBC, & CBS stations are not yet broadcasting HDTV, and only two say they have plans to do so in 2005. The other two say they have no forseeable plans to do so. :(
Just be very very happy to have the wonderful HD lineup you do, cause it could be a whole lot worse. I get extremely frusturated at times with no DiscoveryHD, HD-Net, INHD, ABC/CBS/FOX !!!
