yes, PQ looks great and the 5.1 seems to "amplify" the bad singing. Kinda like watching SD on my RPLCD.

No HD...WPGH-DT OTA in Pittsburgh.
Too bad about the anthem singer to start the show. She actually wasn't bad when she wasn't trying to show off.

Looks great. Just think how far FOX has come from this time last year.

Despite it being in HD this year, FOX is already being pessimistic about this season's AI. Read the Reuters report here .

And as usual, when the show reaches the finalists phase, I still wish it was live in the west coast =(, I'll probably will settle with SD live for now and HD for highlights 3 hrs later.

AI is perfect for Fox's low-bitrate HD. Really no motion at all.

Looks great.

BFBC2: Wagman
Steam: Wag

Sometimes I see blocking when the view switches from the contestant to a wide shot of all four judges. It's really apparent when the judges wear something dark. KTBC-DT, Hitachi 32HDT55, Pace 550HD.

How can anyone watch this crapola? It's so pathetic. I'd rather watch paint dry. Can there be this many losers, wackos and dorks running around this country? If there is, we are in a sad state of decay my fellow americans.

Where's my paint brush...

Baby, remember...It's my life and I'll do what I want!

Fox's HD is not low-bitrate, the video has over 15 Mbps available whenever it needs it, which is plenty for 720p. Another 3 Megs isn't going to make that much difference. This show is sent over the same network at the same bitrate as everything else on FOX, so whatever differences you see between programs must be dependent on the source and not the delivery system.

Looking great on KTTV-DT here in Los Angeles.

Remember that this is the first time AI is HD, but last season during the finale, the show was 16:9 ED, and it still looked good at that time. Looks like the finale was archived in HD; Fox was not HD yet last May.

I would respectfully disagree. The clips from last year's finale that I saw (during the early part of tonight's show) looked like an SD upconvert.

The rest of the show looked great to me -- showing no signs of the problems that are evident in the NFL games, which kind of solidifies my feeling that the network distribution system is capable of a very good image, provided it goes IN that way ...
