I was never a big fan of Lindsey's but I was very impressed how she pulled it off. Going through and shaking the hands of all three judges while she was singing showed a lot about her character.

My g/f thinks Constantine is sexy but we both agree he looks a lot like Smeagol from LOTR - ROTK.:p

Paula Abdul has been looking somewhat Planet of the Apes-ish lately.

I think you're right. You can check out the betting odds here (click on Entertainment followed by American Idol). As this is a most likely a good representative sampling population, it has generally been an extremely accurate indicator of the chances of each contestant. I don't think they have missed yet this year.

Not a big Constantine fan, but unlike prior weeks I thought he was most improved of all the performers last week. Surprised noone said anything. It was obvious why the judges kept pulling for him in recent weeks while we all sat back and said "huh?," since his performance of "You've made me so very happy" was actually pretty decent. IMHO, he's pushed himself up from the bottom to the middle of the pack.

Right now, my prediction for AI this year is Bo, with honorable mention going to Anwar, Scott, Nadia, Anthony & Jessica. However, if you've watched this show before you know that things change, dark horses emerge, and contestants who looked really good early on start to fade (like Carrie).

I'm disgusted that Mikalah has made it this far. She definitely gets the most-obnoxious-in-the-history-of-AI award, and she isn't very talented. I can only guess that New Yawkers and the Streisand-loving showtune crowd is carrying her along.

Glad they fixed the sound this past week. The weak DD5.1 voice track during the run-up to the final 12 was horrible. Much better this time.

I agree that Constantine was most improved.

When you were listing how things change you forgot that someone gets voted out for no good reason whatsoever while a no talent hack makes it through to the final three (Tamyra & Nikki come to mind). The voting habits of some people boggle the mind.

I think it's because they still carry on the practice of voting for who you like best instead of least. I agree with earlier posters that said it should be done this way (i.e. vote for who you want to GO - like Mikalah). The way they have it now encourages fans of the show to multi-vote for everyone BUT the one(s) they want. I'm guessing Fox does this on purpose so they can keep bragging about how many votes they got.

Nikki was hideous and WAY below the talent level of any of this year's crowd. I've seen Tamyra since she was on originally, and she's really not that bad. She might possibly have hit the bottom of this year's pack of gals.

If you want to talk about a REAL no-talent, how about the runner-up the first year - that fuzzy-haired guy Justin Guarini. He was TOTALLY lacking in talent. The finale that year was a no-contest.

I meant that Tamyra should have made it to the final three and that Nikki should not have even made it to the top 10. Tamyra's "A House Is Not A Home" was just amazing.

I wouldn't count Carrie out just yet. She's vocally superior to all but a couple and simply needs to do a better job of finding the right songs.

One interesting thing is the fact that Nikko wasn't even in the bottom 3 last week. He was #7 among the guys, but when all the voting was combined, he is ahead of at least 3 girls???

That begs the question of how many of the other guys that were voted off already would still be there if the preliminary voting had been all inclusive instead of seperating the boys and girls. I think it also goes to show that the boys talent this year was easily better than the girls.

Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity

Yes. And I believe that he's already "washed-up". Whereas the other season's runnerups (Clay Aiken and Diana DeGarmo) are doing well.

I also think Carrie is still in there. I recall during that annoying group thing they force the contestants to do they gave her and Bo the lead parts and her the final note ( to show off her voice)

While the group things are annoying and cheesy, I must admit that these singers blended together very well as a group... better than previous years IIRC.

I can't wait to see the fallout from this.

The phone numbers listed (at least via D* local SD for Knoxville TN) for the last three contestants were WRONG - they referred to the FIRST three contestants!

The first 7(?) were correct, but on the recap when they list the numbers to call, the version of the number that is written inluding the letters (i.e. 1 866 IDOLS 08) was correct, while the smaller number beneath it was wrong (i.e 1 866 XXXXX 01 !

This was true for the last three contestants, so anyone who didn't pay attention and just dialed the number as listed with the contestant on screen will actually be voting for one of the FIRST three contestants!

This should be fun to see how they deal with this!

I've gotta say, tonight's show was excellent. As I recall, other than mikala (sp?) and nadia, everyone was very, very solid.

And Carrie! Wow! What an amazing performance. Almost flawless. I liked it so much that when the show was over I had my wife replay her performance on the ol' HDTiVo. It actually sounded *better* the second time. I realized tonight that I would pay to buy Carrie's music. She is the first American Idol contentant whose music I have actually wanted to buy.

Jessica was also pretty awesome. She'll be in the top 3, I'm pretty sure.

If mikala is not booted this week, something is wrong with american pop culture.

Same thing here, first time we ever went back after the show and replayed a performance.

Oh, there's gonna be fallout. :D FOX already announced that they are doing a new, live show on Wednesday from 9-10pm (ET/PT) that will contain "encore" performances from the Tuesday night show, plus new elements. The Tuesday votes will be tossed out, and only the votes made after the WEDNESDAY show will count. The "results" show has been moved to Thursday night, along with the premiere of "Life On A Stick." "Point Pleasant" will be preempted.

From the idolonfox website... personally, they should just replay last nights show to be fair..

"IMPORTANT PROGRAM NOTE CHANGE
Due to an error with the graphics shown on-screen (incorrect voting numbers were displayed) during the performance recap at the end of last night’s AMERICAN IDOL, a live, one-hour show will air tonight, Wednesday, March 23 9/8c on FOX, to enable a re-vote. This new show will combine new live elements with encores of Tuesday’s performances from the remaining 11 contestants.

Phone lines will open at the conclusion of tonight's show and will remain open for two hours to give viewers the chance to vote for their favorite contestants and keep them in the competition. Only the voting results from tonight’s show will determine who received the lowest number of votes and will be sent home this week. Tune in to see who America has chosen to stay and who is sent home on the live results show tomorrow, Thursday, March 24 9/8c live on FOX.

RECAP
NEW LIVE SHOW & ENCORE PERFORMANCES THEN RE-VOTE - TONIGHT 9/8c
LIVE RESULTS SHOW - TOMORROW 9/8c
