CBS should give Esposito a hair allowance. Her hair is a disaster..

That's her look. Sexy disheveled hair. Acquired taste I suppose, but definitely better than Medusa's.

Is NCIS being replaced by the "Young Ducky Feel-Good Hour?"

Also, there has been a trend for years on TV of people committing murder for the lamest reasons.

I thought this was a relatively fun ep, what with young Ducky and his mother, and Fornell 's daughter's "plan B", but it's not a good sign when the fluff eps are the most enjoyable ones...

Well NCIS might be leveling off from its tailspin, but still pretty much in a "where do we go from here?" dead end. Maybe the time has finally come for the musical episode?

My Sasha Alexander resurrection plot is looking smarter all the time! I need to just summarize the damn thing, since I can't write a proper script for it... and post my ideas so at least people can imagine it. The way people are complaining about the show lately (and I am with a lot of them) my idea might be way better than even I imagine it could be.

Nope...never heard of it. My reference is from watching Alexander on Roselli & Isles where she was fairly dowdy.

For all of its problems, this week's NCIS takes home the one-liner of the year award:

2 bodies in autopsy room

Palmer (wistful): It's sad when they come in so young.

Ducky (wise and philosophical): It is indeed. But then you and I both know that all of life is a near-death experience. We must never cease (Gibbs rushes in) to give thanks for the gift of today. Isn't that right Jethro?

Gibbs (sardonic): I'll tell you tomorrow.

Disappointed in the episode. For the past several years with had a well connected 4-person team plus Abby. With DiNozzo gone I feel we now have a reduced 3-person team plus Abby. The two new agents really don't fit the mold, especially Torres. I think magic and bottle come into play here.

Regarding the Torres "secret" reveal... Gibbs covering that up doesn't do much for Gibbs' character. I get that he had his own shady thing in his past that he covered up... but if he's going to cover up other stuff for other agents, how can he be a "rules" guy? I'm not even saying Torres should get the boot over his transgression of the past... but covering it up, rather than reporting it... that's how corrupt police departments get their start, no?

Maybe... but he's screwing over a lot of other people... also the slippery slope continues. First Gibbs excuses his own past... then covers up another agent's past... why not cover up other stuff too? And it's one thing... getting revenge over the person he knew killed his family. He was fine helping Torres cover up planting evidence... that's not a thing cops should be helping other cops cover up. Calls into question the whole sense of morality going forward.

They'd also need to stop preaching Hollywood politics. Fire the writers and show runner and we MIGHT have a show worth watching for entertainment again.

I tend to concur with your thoughts. I, personally, like Jennifer Esposito as an actress. I thought she was very good in "Blue Bloods". But, she, Duane Henry (the British bloke) and Wilmer Valderrama are just three people too many in addition to the regular cast. I always feel the writers are trying very hard to find anything in a script for them to do. They just drag down the show for no good reason, IMO.

On a side note--I happened to see a VERY early episode recently that had Sasha Alexander on (as "Caitlin"). I enjoyed her character. One thing that is different now, vs. early episodes, was that at a crime scene, not only did they take photos of the scene, they also sketched the crime scene by hand. I thought that was interesting.

And, speaking of "Caitlin"--the episode where she left the series (by a head-shot), REALLY jolted me. She, "Gibbs" and "DiNozzo" were on a rooftop of a building. IIRC, she had saved "Gibbs" from being harmed. She fell down on the roof and "Gibbs" was helping her back up. "DiNozzo" was in the background looking on. "Gibbs" was saying to "Caitlin"--"Nice job!" Her response was--"I never thought I would live to hear---" and BANG! she was dead. "DiNozzo" was sprayed with her blood/brain matter. That really shocked me.

Anyway--just my $.02.

My guess is that Glasberg had a direction in mind for the new characters, but his death left them adrift. That many new characters would have required a whole new team dynamic. I'm not sure Glasberg could have pulled it off, but he couldn't have done any worse than the train wreck we've got now...

Vidop,

Yea that caught me and the wife both off guard and surprized us as well I was wishing they would have pulled the plug before this last years season.Show has had a GREAT run and has pretty much become a snooze fest and don't really look forward to watching it like we did beforeWe'll keep watching till the end because have too much invested to not see it through.

Even Gibbs isn't really Gibb's anymore and never could warm up to Bishop either. O well the show must go on(not sure why )
