I hope they have some good reason plot-wise for killing Sweets, he was one of my favorite characters. I'm guessing this is the last season and there may be other deaths as it plays out but this was sad.

Got to say I much preferred the old home set vs. the new. Seems too clinical, like the lab at the Jeffersonian. But that is where Bones spends most fo her time so I guess it would make sense for her to choose a home like that.

No good reason. The actor wanted off the show to do other things.

Did Eric Millegan want to leave? I cannot remember now. He hasn't done much at all on screen since.

HE's apparently also going to be involved in the re-make of the Chevy Chase "Vacation" movies.

Seriously though, he was one of the reasons I continued to watch the show, a show that probably reached end-of-life status about 2 seasons ago. It's still entertaining television, but I'm finding I have less and less vested interest in it with each new character development now. There were so many ways he could have left the show without killing him off senselessly. Sure, his death and the investigation will now propel probably half the season, but since we already have a somewhat reasonable idea of what it is about, it's not like his death is actually some sort of awesome mystery to be solved.

With his brains and his passions, along with Daisy and the pregnancy, there are so many ways/reasons he could have left the Smithsonian without being offed. That doesn't mean they would ever have to bring him back, but at least his character might have found meaningful closure and, maybe he returns for the final episode.

We were talking about Zach actor Eric Milligan. John Francis Daley played Sweets.

I missed who you were referring to and assumed it was Sweets since he just now left the show. My bad.

No problem. I think John Daley made the right call. Being dead on the show is preferable to randomly being turned into a cannibal psychopath. At least Sweets went out with integrity.

Now that I cannot argue with. The random cannibal psychopath acolyte was a very big reach and was pretty hard for me to wrap my head around as far as actually being a sensible development.

Well, perhaps you should ask JKRowling. I can't believe I'm actually considering buying the HP movie box set. Somebody stop me!

I know I know. It's just funny in a lot of shows I watch (cop dramas) the people are fantastically wealthy. From my years of watching House Hunters, their place in DC would be very pricey. Especially after that nice place they had that blew up

Well true, except it more likely to be out in 'burbia land which would probably mitigate the cost ... a little.

I had mistakenly started another thread about Bones and this week's episode. Sorry-I didn't know this thread existed. Anyway-here's my comments about this weeks show.

This week's show (the 200th episode) I thought was an outright HOOT!! It was VERY WELL DONE, IMO. Every cast member played a slightly different role than normal. This was fun to see. And, the set designers/dressers/costumers did a great job to make it look like the mid '50's. Everything looked authentic for the time period. Bone's hose (that had a seam up the back of them), the coffee PERCOLATOR, the furniture, the suits and dresses all were correct. The furniture looked mid-'50's. They had the police calling in on a dedicated call box, instead of radios. People using telephone booths on the street (no cell phones back then). And the characters appearance--Hodgins was the "mad" scientist with puffed up, frizzy hair and Edison had slicked down hair plastered with cream. The women wore dress gloves (I remember that) and petticoats (?) under their skirts. And, the ladies hairstyle were correct for this time, also.

The opening montage shot in the fashion of a B/W newsreel to be seen in a movie theater was great! And, the fonts used for the credits were a good choice to mimic a font used for a real movie.

The cars were authentic and correct for this time period. The only nit I will pick here is that the Chevy Bel Air convertible they were driving had incorrect "driving/parking" light lenses. They were ORANGE. That is not correct--back then light lenses were transparent/white. Orange lenses didn't appear until ~'62/'63. Otherwise, all was perfect.

Once again, I feel they outdid themselves in this episode. They had to spend some extra money to do this. But, I feel it was well worth it. To all who did the show--WELL DONE!

The 200th was a very enjoyable episode.
I got a different feel from this ep. I seemed as though there was less use of Steadycam and more stand and dolly mounted cameras. I dunno, it just felt different to me.

Two would seem to be two too many to me too.
Sarcasm is the sincerest form of flattery.
I bid you a fondue.

I finally watched the 200th episode and really liked it. Had the feel of an old time 50's movie, they seemed to get all the details right. I just wonder when they are going to write in her pregnancy, it's getting pretty hard to hide.

I watched 200 recently and it was kinda fun, but kinda silly. Which I guess is the same thing!

So, reviving the dead here... picking the Bones clean...

I call shenanigans on the season finale!

Bones + Booth leaving? Booth and his new/old gambling problem?

But...

Hodgins finds his 4 billion (Angie did) and wants no part of it? Really? Ok, I get he invented magic floors and has multi-millions of his own... but that's his family money and they gave to a lot of charities that he hadn't been giving to since losing the money... and they had the plot with his brother who he had to get help to pay for the home he stays in once the money was stolen... I see him being charitable... but giving all 4 billion away? Nope. Sorry, not believable at all... not even in the slightest.

Then topping that cherry with another cherry on top... Angie hates death so much she wants to run off to Paris... Hodgins buys a home there and everything... they effectively quit and only stay to "finish that case"... and then Angie suddenly realized Hodgins likes his job. Really? She didn't already know that? And that is enough to talk her out of Paris? Are they going to sell that Paris home? They gave their billions away so they might not want to just squander millions on a home they aren't moving to anymore...

I like the show... characters... and actors... but this show fell off the wagon more than Booth did! (ba dump bump)

Me do not have signature.

A bit like betting on both red and black (renewal and cancellation). Also they brought back several minor characters we haven't seen in some time. They threw it all up in the air and are covered for renewal, cancellation, and any characters not signing a new contract at reasonable terms.

Yeah . . . this show gets more and more ridiculous. I'm secretly hoping it doesn't come back, but I suspect it will.

I'm no stranger to the liberal bias in Hollywood, but this show is getting really over the top with its preachiness.

And giving the money away... more thoughts... they could give some to the Jeffersonian to help fund their crimefighting... and what about the other squint friends and Cam? They could have made all of them multi-millionaires... and still had billions to play with!

I'd like to think that Angela is smarter than that, giving all the money away, we'll see. She should be a millionaire in her own right with all the stuff she "invented" and "improved". i enjoy the show for what it is, a fun procedural, with characters i like, and don't get too deep into analyzing the show.

I just take it for what it is and try not to think or the bias gives me a headache.
