I just watched it again, no obvious eggs for me. However, the bee that got Earls ear made its entrance completely off the 4-3 screen, we saw it 2-3 seconds ahead of SD. It's a stretch I know, but it is something.

My wife mentioned that the college they went to last night was also the college that Jimmy off of Yes Dear went to. And while walking down the hall, Earl said something that was used in Yes Dear also...

A lot of those scenes appeared to have been shot on the campus of USC. I am quite used to seeing my alma mater as the backdrop on many television shows.

Look, a porn machine!!!!!!!!!!

Earl, they figured out how to put booze in food, but you can't eat too many or you'll pass out and they'll write balls on your forehead.

This last episode had quite a few great lines in it. My wife nearly lost it when it first showed him with the swollen lip and ear.

Hilarious episode. I liked when Randy said:

Yea...They are really funny when you relate so closely to their circumstances. It helps to forget the pain I guess.

Not the best episode last night, but still funny. My favorite part was when they were hanging by the ropes, and Randy yells out "Ricola" to hear the echos.

Yeah I thought both Earl and The Office were a bit off their games last night. Still funny, but not what I'd become accustomed to.

Some of the best lines are the subtle ones. My favorite from last night:

(referring to the top of the watertower) "Randy and I knew from experience it would be windy up there".

As someone who doesn't laugh out loud while watching TV, I laughed out loud when I heard that.

I missed the first 19 minutes because my HDTivo funked up, but I liked the sound when they were down in teh well. You could hear the echo and also the wind. I Was listening 5.1, so I'm not sure what 2.0 sounded like.

Not as funny as the bee strings, but I doubt that they'll ever top that episode.

I hope all you fans caught last night's episode...

It was one of the best! Hilarious!

If you did, you missed:

Llyod Bridges is back as Earl's dad, a first generation Mustang, a "your dirty mind" wink-wink joke reference with Randy and Joyce, drinking beer with a straw in a blender....
a catholic school girl that turns out bad, a anti-smoking message and drag racing.

I love this show!

Not to be a prick, but it's Beau Bridges - Lloyd was his dad, Jeff his brother.

I actually had more fun finding Sherrif Bullock (for all you Deadwood fans) in last night's episode. He was hysterical and so out of character.

Joy was absolute the BEST part of last nights show. Listening to her drunk was too funny.

This show can be uneven; some are much better than others, but last night's was one of the funniest so far. That drag racing scene had me rolling on the floor.

I believe Joyce was drinking a blended drink. I recall that it was greenish in color and I believe it was some sort of daquiri.

This is one of the episodes they showed the crowd at the Paley festival last week. I agree it was one of the funniest.

I second that. She had me in tears when she sat next to Randy in the bar and said "Hey, dummies. What are you guys probably just sitting and saying stupid stuff, doing stupid stuff" then started laughing histerically. :D

I loved that one and when they were giving condolences for Catalina's dead mom she said, "It's OK. It was either her or me."

I agree with an earlier poster that said the subtle one-liners that are set up are the funniest parts of this show.

Actually, Bullock is the character that's out-of-character. If you've seen any of Timothy Olyphant's other work (The Girl Next Door, Dreamcatcher, etc.), he's quite the animated actor.

I recall, in the Deadwood thread, the talk about how he must not be a very good actor, what with Bullock being so hum-drum and monotonous...

But as Jon Lovitz' Master Thespian would say, that's "Acting!"

I, too, was pleasantly surprised to see him on Earl...
