Does anyone know the artist and song that was being played close to the end of the episode as they were exiting the house after shooting the killer? A very moving song.

I concur, probably the best episode of the season for a show that has become very formulaic, and frankly, boring; I was about to drop it from my DVR list. Rachel Nichols looked great(doesn't look as drawn as I've seen her her in a previous TV role) and gave a very impressive performance amongst a cast that is very wooden. My only complaint, and it's something that is very hard to get around with episodic TV, the fact that when you see the guest star, someone who you are likely familiar with from other guest spots on other shows, chances are 90% or better that's "who done it". This episode threw in a few red herrings, the detective and security guard, but as soon as we saw the father, I knew it was him. Plus, I think they should have held off on the reveal until he pulled the knife - they telegraphed who it was as soon as Garcia mentioned his criminal assault background. It's just a weakness that's hard to get around with television, it was a very good episode though and kept the show on my record list.

I agree. Plus I think the dynamic was changed when JJ left the show - Garcia is not in the right role as coordinator at the beginning of each episode.

CM in the past also had a few recurring threads which is good device to get a deeper look at the characters, and has been completely missing this season.

I thought Rachel looked great, and I think she can be a good addition as long as the writers don't rely on the angst factor. It seems a reach that her father was a murderer with an obvious past connection to the team, but I hope they don't dwell on that too much.

The blondie cadet is an JJ Clone.

Might as well ask her back.

Why she left anyways?

they should get rid of the garcia
she is the most unrealistic aspect of the show
- the searches and results she gets in seconds
- her inappropriate attire and behavior

Usually I like the quirky computer genius character on these type of shows but there is something about her that is really annoying. I can't put my finger on what it is.

From reading around the internet, it seems like people either love her or hate her- there's no middle ground.

I really like Rachel but I feel kinda disappointed that her character so far at least appears to be a slightly mainstreamed version of her character on "The Inside".

Damn I wish The Inside was never canceled.

That was a good show. It slipped thorugh the cracks - I think because it started during the summer?

read the post about Garcia, either you love her or hate her.. Put me in the column of disliking her.. Between her gaudy outfits and her crush on Morgan, it brings down the team portrayal.. No more "hey baby doll" talk from Morgan please..other than that, one of my favorite shows on tv now..

That episode may have had the sloppiest, most abrupt writing to date. They have this huge buildup only to have Morgan barge into a private dinner, accuse a congressman after being warned not to by a superior, then said congressman gets arrested with no solid evidence in roughly 5 minutes of screen time and then nothing to tie that all up.

Yeah--it was like they spent all that time building up the show and then when it came time to solve it, they ran out of time and just assumed everything away.

One of the worst plot holes I've seen in 115+ episodes of Criminal Minds, a show which had pretty reliable writing up until these last 2 seasons.

I think the writer has watched "Natural Born Killers" a few times. Or once, ten or fifteen years ago, and they regurgitated the basic plot subconsciously.

Great episode tonight... I like that it was a bit more edgy. At one point I thought they were going to do a full blown sex scene. Interesting episode.

On another note... Shemar Moore looks great at 40 years old. My god is he good looking. He's honestly the reason I tune in

I've had a problem with the entire Prentiss story arc. It's inconceivable that she wouldn't have shared, with her BAU team, the situation with the Irish dude, when after the shootout it was apparent the murders were tied to past assignments. There was a joint task force. Interpol was consulted. Keeping the team in the dark held no relevance and put additional lives in jeopardy. Then taking off at the end of the briefing to go have a showdown was the ultimate in stupid. If they are writing her off the show, it surely is a clumsily written. If they aren't how can the team ever trust her again.

Agree on Garcia...nails across the blackboard.

I don't lurk as much as I used to and I NEVER listen. Comes from being old and cynical.

I'm not sure how you can work for Interpol, join the FBI, lose your accent, erase your history, and hide your secret about an IRA nutjob who's trying to kill you.
