San Antonio, TX has a few more HD channels than you have, it seems, more as in more StarzHD and CinemaxHD (probably the West or East versions) and has Wealth HD VOD, too.
It uses SDV (as I understand it) as it has asterisks on the A&EHD and MHD channels listings, denoting that you have to have a HD STB to get them vs. with a cablecard you cannot access.

It's a BS flat out lie. Channel 709 is 100% a 720 x 48- signal, pure SD. AND it's a far, far WORSE SD picture than any other SD channel we get from them in NYC.

Seems to me you guys are about 1000% ahead of us in service from TWC (assuming you are part of the "Central NY" district). From what I've read, you get a 10Mb/s RoadRunner, ESPN HD 1 AND 2 on the regular tier AND got a full year of SHO (including HD) for FREE when you lost InHD2 from a HD tier.

The Southern Tier of NY is not part of the Central NYsystem. This afternoon though, TWC added YES HD on channel 721. I have not seen any anouncements of this.

that could be a very good sign people!!!

it has been discussed in the past that Brighthouse Networks is a TWC clone.

I received an email from a TW spokesman on Tuesday in response to a complaint about the lack of HD programming:

"Word today from our Corporate programming group is that the ESPN master contract (which includes ESPN2HD) should be signed this week."

He also mentioned that they "hope to add National Geographic HD soon."

Once National Geographic is added, exactly what existing HD channels will TWC be denying you guys? (The way people talk on this thread, I would expect to see a list of dozens of channels. Certainly, the list will contain at least a half-dozen.)

That's going to vary all over the lot, TWC seems to be at the point where you get big differences even in the same city.

Where I live, try:

NG HD
ESPN 2 HD
FSNY HD
MHD
A&E HD
Versus HD
any PPV HD
any VOD HD

AND I'm not even mentioning the Voom channels...

Cinemax HD is expected to have a deal in a couple of weeks.

ESPN2 HD will be done before the start of baseball.

MTV HD and NGC HD are being worked on but no ETA yet but we might see them before or around the summer.

Starz HD and Starz On Demand will be at least 4th QT of 2006 wait.

I hope this helps you all out."

Ha, this post is from March 06, 2006, a year ago. We got Cinemax and Starz HD and NONE of the others. Dare I point out that long time Cinemax and Starz customers have been PAYING for the HD channel for YEARS before we actually got them. AND we STILL don't have Starz OnDemand, even though it's supposed to be a part of what you pay for them.

Here in Columbus, OH we have gotten NONE of those (doesn't TWC even have ownership in Cinemax?). I'm not a premium channel subscriber, but we're sitting at HBO and Showtime. All we have had added, to my knowledge, is ABC and Fox from the whole Sinclair debacle.

All of my fingers and toes are crossed that ESPN2HD makes it soon for baseball season.

Here's our spread: http://www.timewarnercable.com/midoh...ucts/hdtv.html

NG HD = I would like this one, too, but I can wait.
ESPN2 HD = Have it, but HD is pretty slim pickings, so you can relax just a little.
FSNY HD = Have FSNE, but only shows Celtic home games. (more slim pickings)
MHD HD = Have it, but YUCK! Would prefer TWC saved the bandwidth.
A&E HD = Have it, but HD is VERY slim pickings, so .................
Versus HD (The Outdoor Channel) = This would be nice, too, just like NG HD.
PPV & VOD = Personally, I couldn't care less about these, but of course other people do, I suppose.

All in all, you appear to be not too bad off. Naturally, ESPN2 is a concern. One of these days they're going to show another event in HD.

My comments are a little tongue in cheek. We all want the maximum number of HD channels so that all options are open, but it seems like the posters here are frustrated by the delay of what is actually pretty inconsequential. As long as you have the primary networks, ESPN and a couple of spare general entertainment channels, you're pretty much good to go for HD right now. We'll all be catching up on additional channels over the next year, I would wager. Certainly, folks should not be standing and pounding their heads and fists in despair against the wall in the meantime. It's time for a fresh and positive outlook.

Every college football game on ESPN2 last year was in HD. It really pissed me off that I didn't get to see them that way. I hope this latest rumor is true. Frankly after we get ESPN2 I won't be so rabid for them to add new stuff, though FSN would be my next wish.

...

TW in my neck of the woods has been promising ESPN2HD for about a year and a half, other parts of los angeles have had it for a couple years, i know they have/had the bandwidth because they added MHD, i'm not giving them anymore money for cable-tv service until they add ESPN2HD (which actually has more HD content than i want to see than most of the other HD channels they carry, especially when baseball and college football intersect)

I am in the area of Hudson Valley New York. Since last week, when I tune to FOX-HD I am getting 480? I called TW and they said it is FOX's fault. Is anyone else in the area having this issue? I also am not receiving DD from this channel. All other HD channels are good.

You guys are lucky that's all you don't have. We got picked up by TWC from Adelphia in August, and we still don't even have Discover Theater HD.

Speak 4 yourself. My TWC doesn't have Cinemax and Starz HD , let alone Starz OnDemand. We probably have the least amount of HD content of any major TWC city!!

No offense but I'm sure there are more people in RG's neighborhood than there are in your entire city. Heck, there are almost as many people at a Yankees game than there are in your major city. But seriously, I hope that your HD offerings (and everyone else's too) improves.

I don't think so! Check your map. I'd tell you what major city I am a suburb of but I'd rather you look it up yourself! (a clue - We used to spit and chew Yankee (fill in your own blank) just for entertainment between innings!)

TWC Wisconsin has well over a half million subscribers alone, including lovely West Allis, a suburb of Milwaukee whose metro area approaches TWO MILLION people alone.

Why our TWC has not added a single HD channel or even replaced the INHD2 from over 3 months ago with something HD is beyond both me and gb4fan92.

We DO have enough subscibers to make a difference in getting more HD channels added, its just the crappy management there at TWC Wisconsin that doesn't think its at all worth it.

BTW, AT&T has entered the area offering over 25 HD channels with DVR included, so that should have been an incentive for TWC management to move their collective butts to add HD channels, but no.
