I would prefer a 10 hour movie, broken up into 10 segments though

I think it will happen this time...they've come too far to pull the rug out from under Deadwood fans again...it's happening...great news!!

Yes, let's hope it happens!

I'm re-watching now.

It is so nice to hear REAL Milchian dialog!

Even the simple line given by Mr. Starr to Merrick at the diner while Merrick was commenting on Joanie, seated at a table across the room, "Your Cravat is in the bacon", not only addresses the humorous reality, that his ridiculous neck tie was dangling into the the bacon... but also may indicate that Mr. Merrick, while entranced by Miss Stubbs is out of his depth, clumsy, etc.

Also, what a deep bench of talent this show had on screen as well! Titus Welliver just appeared in this episode.

A veritable multiple course feast for both man and pig alike!

I believe the original set is still intact at the Gene Autry Ranch in California, so HBO would not have a major expense for a set ..

If you go back and look at the cast on the show, there is not a weak link among them. Look at what they have done since then too!

I know they built part of a town in the real Deadwood, kind of off to the side of the real town. I saw it with my own two peepers. Locals say they shot some scenes there; perhaps location shots, maybe more.

Yes, and it's still a tourist draw to this day .. when this thread started buzzing again, I browsed some and found this article ..

It appears as though the thoroughfare is unusually dry in that shot.

Perhaps I misremembered.
