Gotta a question I have the U450, is there a way I can watch my DVR'd shows at work on my computer?? I thought there was, TLC, Discovery, AMC, A&E, Comedy Central. Those are some of the channels I watch.

I don't think you can but some channels are available anywhere on their live TV website: http://uverseonline.att.net/live

Just sign into your account and you can stream certain channels onto your tablet or laptop or work computer. Comes in handy for sports, BBC America, and some other popular networks. They continually add more channels but some are limited to streaming only in your home. Check it out.

Omg this wireless att box has my picture so dark and its frustrating trying to calibrate my tv correct with the crushed blacks!!! Anybody knw of a fix to this? Its like Uverse uses PC level colors and I'm trying to calibrate my tv and the black levels are extremely crushed. And I have a Samsung tv with normal and low black levels and when put to normal the picture is washed out but on low it looks deep and rich but the blacks are just too much and gives too dark of an image

What are your picture settings? Stay away from Dynamic and Natural picture modes on Samsungs. I have the Samsung F8000 and my Dynamic and Natural modes destroy shadow detail.

Well, after shopping around for a better deal, I decided to keep U-Verse for another year since they gave me an offer I couldn't refuse. The internet speeds Comcast offers were pretty tempting, but the lack of ability for their "new" DVR to record in any room (we have 4 HDTVs) was the major deal breaker.

While flipping between an On Demand show and live TV, I unintentionally came across the "recent channels" pop up on the right side of the screen, listing the last ~5 channels I've watched. This is a feature I didn't know was there, and frankly something I missed since switching from DirecTV. Is there a way to access that list while flipping around on live TV?

Is it possible the Enter/Zoom button does this? Mine doesn't but I may be on an earlier version of the Uverse code. I'd like to have that feature too.

Pretty quiet thread lately. FYI, I did find out how I got to the recently watched channels list from the AT&T Forum:
Quote:
Not sure if this has any bearing on what is being discussed but the only time I have seen a 'recent channels visited' type of service is while watching something On Demand and clicking the Last button. This results in showing a list on the right of the last 5 or 6 channels viewed (including a PIP) allowing you to scroll up and down to select.

Also, we are moving Friday, and my 1-year promo discounts ($60 total between internet @ TV) were set to expire in July. I did an online chat and asked if they can extend them, ended up with paying about $15 more per month, but bumped up to 18MB internet & a $150 gift card, so not bad.

A good thing, maybe? Usually when these threads heat up it's with complaints.

Fred

Don't make 'em like they used to, but charge you double price, promise you steak but give you beans and rice.

And here's a complaint to get this thread fired up again smile.gif
Not so much a complaint, more of a new customer question to see if anyone else has ever experienced this.

I was watching an On-Demand movie, and all through the movie there was something bothering me that I just couldn't put my finger on. As I got to the end of the movie, I figured out that the picture was too washed out. Blacks were not deep, and coming through as almost dark grey.
At first I thought it was my TV settings, so I switched to a DVD, and everything looked fine. Back to the U-Verse receiver, washed out again.

I used the "reset system" feature under help, and when everything booted back up, it was fine. Blacks were back to nice and inky. A week or two later, everything is washed out again, and needed to perform another reset.

Think I'm just looking at a bad box here, or something else I should troubleshoot?

Regards,
Paul

And here's something that will bring loads of discussion. AT&T has agreed to buy out DirecTV. Price: just under $50 billion.

And here's a fly in the ointment. The NFL could derail the whole thing.

In particular, does it let you output all video at native resolution or does it require you to choose a single output resolution for everything?

AT&T U-Verse Northeast Ohio

Denon x4000, Samsung LED TV, B&W 704 mains, two M&K subwoofers, Oppo 103, etc.

Hey guys, I'm not sure if this is known but...

Anyone with HBO, go to On-Demand and watch Game of Thrones or any movie. I think your jaw is going to drop when you see how much better the On-Demand picture quality is verses the actual live channel... In fact, everything on On-Demand has amazing picture quality in comparison to the live channels. PQ isn't something U-Verse is known for but the HD picture quality on the On-Demand programming is jaw dropping! My friend who has Comcast was in AWE of how great Game of Thrones looked. Every little strand of hair and skin pore was distinguishable. It didn't even compare to the DVR'ed episode's PQ, the On-Demand stream was near BluRay like in quality, I am not joking! Anyone doubting AT&T's ability to deliver amazing picture on their current infrastructure needs to take a look for themselves.

I have a top-tier 55" LED Samsung F8000 which does help with making the picture look impressive (deep blacks, high contrast, incredibly accurate colors) but the added clarity and the detail on Game of Thrones on On-Demand looked just about as good as my BluRay player. I have calibrated picture settings and have Sharpness set to 0 as it should be and the detail is still impeccable. I just hope AT&T can get the live channels up to the On-Demand picture quality. If they can then I will definitely be subscribing with them once I'm living on my own (I'm currently 20 living with my parents until mid-August and then moving to UIUC for my last two years of school, I'm a computer engineering major if you're wondering).

TLDR On-Demand on U-Verse looks amazing! Hopefully the live channels will catch up soon.

Just signed up for U-Verse and a bit disappointed in the DVR. I have VIP 2500 and the "30 second skip forward" isn't an instant skip ... it's a bit slow, clunky skip forward. Is there a way to configure this to move instantly like my good ol' TIVO?

Thanks.
