I can't believe they aren't doing all games in HD this season. At least all games involving my Rangers are in HD. I hope they have made arrangements for all of these HD games to be shown on INHD.

I was hoping they'd do all in HD as well.

I CAN'T BELIEVE that they aren't doing any Wild games in HD!

are the hd games going to appear on inhd again, or is the Versus HD network going to finally launch ?

also, are the Monday night games the only only exclusive night, or were Tuesdays added as well?

All NHL games should be in HD!

Only one Predators game on the network and not in HD. Oh well, when they make the playoffs they will get on.

I would have been very upset if OLN/Versus had taken a Rangers home game and not done HD (like they did a few times last season).

A few things:

First '*' means exclusive - so that seems to be mostly Mondays, with sometimes Tuesdays.

Second,I look at the schedule, and it seems like most of the HD games are Monday. I look at theNBATV schedule (HD schedule not available yet), and they also do monday and tuesday weekly (along withmore days...).

So its very possible they have some sort of deal to switch off nights on InHD, with NHL getting Mondays and NBA getting Tuesdays... I could just be overthinking it though...

Guess there isn't enough official news out there yet to know for sure.....

I have Dtv and last year DTV carried a few HD NHL games on their special channel 95(?) but only a few. I am seriously considering switching to cable but they do not list INHD as an HD network.

Does anybody know if Dtv will be doing this (special broadcast) on a more consistent basis?

All games Versus does are exclusive broadcasts in that it is the only place you will be able to see that game.

Their exclusive night starts as Tuesday then switches to Monday after Thanksgiving. On these nights you will not be able to see a NHL game on any other US channel. So if you team is scheduled to play on one of their exclusive nights and they're not doing the game, it won't be televised. I haven't scanned the NHL schedule yet to see if that effects any US teams.

I wish Center Ice would come up with an HD package. . . That comcast would carry.

If the lockout taught me anything it's that even analog hockey is better than no hockey.

Are OLN/Versus HD games carried on Dish? Are they included with any HD package? Considering switching to Dish and I want to verify I wont be losing this channel.

As soon as dish signed the contract for the stanley cup last year dish started carrying the HD games, so no reason not to assume that wont continue next year.

With more and more RSNs doing games in HD, doing any national NHL games -- which get far fewer viewers -- in SD is really dumb, IMO.

Q's:

1) Blackout rules- do local SD broadcasts STILL pre-empt the national HD feed?

2) Does DirectTV plan to carry OLN in HD w/out buying the NHL CI package? And, if #1's answer is still "yes", does getting NHL CI get around it?

3) I'm debating on switching to Dish, from Direct, very soon. Does Dish offer NHL CI?

Thanks.

I thought I remembered OLN being given not just exclusive games but exclusive nights starting this year. Anyone know if that is true, and we won't get any RSN or CI games on their exclusive nights. Like Fox Saturday baseball.

Don't worry, I think the Sharks are on TV in HD on NBC a few times.

Well, the Phoenix Coyoldies are going to be on once all year, and not in HD. So I won't see one HD Coyotes game this year. Didn't D* put OLN's HD games on ch. 95 last year? I didn't have an HD box for the season, but I recall seeing that somewhere.

Don't forget that HDNet has been carrying 2 HD games/week for years. I'm sure their schedule will be announced in the future. All hope is not lost. Plus, they seem to have a more diverse selection of teams that OLN/Versus and NBC usually do. And they're framed for 16x9.

Does HDNet produce the games? Or do they steal a local carrier and put their graphics on the feed?

HDNet has produced it's own games.

But the games in pittsburgh may have been taken, because they're were a striking number of them

Center Ice on D* did show alternative games last year when they were being played. As I recall, there weren't very many times this happened in the scheduling though. Can't say if it will change this year, although I don't see why it would, especially if the game is on TSN since they (AFAIK) are not covered by the OLN contract.

I believe the first year of the OLN/Versus contract did not call for exclusive television windows, but future years (starting with this season) did. This was because the entire schedule was released before the TV contract was finalized, and I think they were afraid of pissing off fans even more than we already were after missing a season.

So unless I'm mistaken, the only games available to Center Ice subscribers in the USA(regardless of provider) will be the national game on Versus. It'll be much like the exclusive window that MLB has when Fox games are on nationally - no games are on Extra Innings.

I could be wrong, but I'm about 80% sure I read this when the contract with OLN was signed last summer. This is not a good thing for die-hard hockey fans, IMO, unless the nationally televised game is the only game in the league during those windows. But I really doubt this is the case.

And, for the conflict with NBATV games in HD, InHD started the season by tape-delaying the NHL game until after the NBA game. But they finally came to their senses and gave the NBA priority, put the NHL games on InHD2 live, then were replayed them after the NBA game on InHD. I'd expect it to be the same this season, but I thought I read something about the potential demise of InHD2, so it'll be interesting if that happens.

I just signed up with TW here in Rochester and I dont believe they offer OLN/Versus in HD yet, but i do have INHD 1 & 2.

I also have BEV, and between TSN-HD and CBC HD , its going to be a huge improvement this upcoming season as far as the quantity of games in HD, as last year my Sabres were only in HD a couple times during the regular season, and they are already penciled in for many more games in HD this year!

I believe that TSN-HD shares the same HD feed as OLN/Versus and use their own announcers, and between periods shows. At least it seemed to be the case for the Playoffs last year. I`ll bet Ken can correct me on that if I am wrong.
