Before the show aired this year I read they were going for a fun/good time season and it looks like the scoring has been slanted that way. Not to say there has been many bad dances but the scale has appeared to have been slid up a point or so which makes it difficult to really reward a great dance. Also, early on they trend to grade on a perceived scale.

Just watched the results show. I really enjoy watching Jonathan and Anna dance. They are just so Great.

Also I would like to thank Brooke for her dress again tonight.

With the show over on the west coast, the results are in and...

Bye-bye, Jack and Anna. As expected it came down to audience vote as the last three standing couples were tied for last place in the judges scoring.

KISS next week, on the performance show? They won't give it up will they?

I was disappointed that Jack got the boot. He had much more upside as a dancer than Gavin but his heyday as a celeb is in the past and Gavin's is now so that probably affected the vote. Jonathan and Anna's tribute was beautiful, heart wrenching and was in keeping with the week's theme. The fact that Julia Ivleva was there made it a very special moment. The All-Star guys troop including Travis Wall and Twitch, among others was freaking brilliant. Nice to see the SYTYCD alums again and the more I see of Twitch, the more impressed I am at what a great all around dancer he has become. Tony and Sharna were wonderful and Rascal Flats was, as always, excellent. Overall, the results show was first rate last night.

She's also done a lot of performances for the armed forces, and is often involved in the annual Festival of Remembrance we have here to remember those who have died in conflict. Whilst she sings operatic music I don't think she's ever actually performed in full operas - she's more of a concert/recording artist.

Popular though. She recently split with her long-term boyfriend (a UK TV presenter - Gethin Jones)

She may have a girl next door image, but if she dances the Rumba, Salsa and Tango anything like her Jive, that image may change. She can turn up the heat. From all indications, she lives up to her image, but I'm thinking there's more there than her image .

What is the name of the troupe girl that danced the first dance on the results show, wearing purple, kind of shorter then the other troupe dancers? She is so beautiful.

It's Monday. Time for another weekly BUMP for tonight's performance show.

It's Rock&Roll Week. With live performances by KISS tonight and tomorrow. (Oy.)

Dancers brought down to earth tonight, both in terms of performance and judges scores. Only Donald&Peta raised their level of competition, scoring 27 and leading the judges scoring.

Also, per Tom, "Dance Duel" will not start until next week, so normal elimination rules apply for Tuesday's results show.

Classic DWTS MO. When a couple of the contestants seem to be opening up too much ground on the rest of the group, the judges will, justified or not, lowball them to bring thme back to the pack.

Not a bad gig for KISS. Only had to perform one song (their signature song) and got to shmooz with the rest of the cast the rest of the show.

Actually, I thought everyone was overscored the first 2 weeks. Probably because the level of competence was greater as a group. Yes, they brought all down last night, but William screwed the pooch and Katherine only deserved 8s.

Where did Melissa have her injury I watched the dance, I didn't see anything out of place? Except for the slip on her dress.

Up to this week I thought the best dancers were fairly judged and the not so good scored a little high. This week they still gave out a 27 and the few highly rated ones from previous weeks did appear to step down a bit... it was nice to see their scores follow.

She hit her head on the floor near the end, according to reports.

UPDATE: We were shown the video during the results show. Melissa's head hit against Maks' knee causing a mild concussion. She was taken to the hospital as a precaution. She was not there during the results show.

Show now over on the west coast.

Again, Melissa Gilbert hit her head against Maks' knee during a spin move and suffered a mild concussion. She was hospitalized overnight and was not present during the results show. However, she and Maks were deemed safe so they will be back for next week, barring other complications.

As for the results...

Bottom two shocker - Roshon&Chelsie and Sherry&Val were the bottom two (Roshon was second on the judges leaderboard). And gone are...

Sherry&Val.

Latin week next week, including the Dance Duel between the bottom two couples on the results show.

Would anyone be kind enough to enlighten me as to exactly what the h*ll Maria and Derek were supposed to be doing? Wifey says Salsa, I say the music was Samba and that Maria/Derek looked like they were making a pathetic attempt at that. Frankly, loved Maria's headgear (but would have preferred a Carmen Miranda fruit bowl).

For a long while they rarely played the music that the dance demanded, like last week playing rock to quick step or tango.. . I wonder what they do next.. country music to mambo dancing? geesh

Hey, I long ago stopped viewing this show as anything even remotely resembling a dancing competition. I also realize that everyone likes different music. But these pathetic attempts by the producers to show viewers how relevant dancing is by using music that isn't anywhere near danceable is, IMO, driving a lot of fans away. Of course the show seems to be doing well so I guess I can't blame them.

Next week is Motown salute. You can pretty much guess that once that tidbit came out, Gladys Knight's audience vote count probably went way up.

Show now over on the west coast and the results are in.

First off was the encore dance, Maria & Derek's salsa. Which they interrupted in the middle (music stopped) so they could plant big wet ones on Bruno & Carrie Ann, respectively.

Yeah, I kind of saw that coming. She was in the first group for results and was safe.

The bottom two were Gavin & Karina (expected) and Jaleel & Kym (unexpected), so they did the Dance Duel cha-cha.

Judges decision (was unanimous) that Jaleel & Kym won the duel and they're safe, so bye-bye Gavin & Karina.

Next week, Motown special with live performances (for the dancing) by Motown superstars. Should be interesting.

Sure would love to see Gladys get up there and do "Midnight Train to Georgia". Wishful thinking.

I can't fathom a Lady Gaga song with cha-cha-cha dancing.. that was like a WTF moment there last week... please don't continue this madness

Still madly in Love with Maria and Katherine..

The other night PBS had a show covering a ballroom dancing contest and I watched three minutes. That's all I could last as the music, announcers and even the contestants were so robotically boring. I agree the music needs to be styled for the dance... however a fair amount of leeway is a good thing.
