mmm Brea Grant me likes...

Hoping she doesn't have a clause like Jennifer and shows off more...

So Olmos character is a real guy, not imaginary like Dexter's dad, unless imaginary people can pick up solid object (the manequin's head). Also in common with Dexter, the dear older sister.

RIP Mom, we always love you 8/18/13

But it's going to make outstanding drama. Deb now has to watch her back CONSTANTLY because LaGuerta is gunning for her in a big way. Angel will watch her back too. LaGuerta will use every opportunity to try to trip Deb up. And remember that LaGuerta is still Deb's immediate supervisor.

I just don't see Deb marrying Quinn.
But how about Masuka's hot intern. I hope we get to see "more" of her as the season progresses.

Thanks for the props...no, it certainly wasn't realistic, but it looked inevitable to me based on how they set it up. LaG is certainly "beware here be dragons". Deb is going to have to watch her ass. I'm liking the Mos Def/Dex dynamic developing...looks like a team up again. Quinn is going to stir sh*t up about Dex. Deb will be on board with Dex's secret and will be controlling him (as much as she can), by the end of this season.

I don't lurk as much as I used to and I NEVER listen. Comes from being old and cynical.

Poor Deb. lol

It felt pretty awkward the whole episode with Deb and Dexter.

A lot of funny moments. If I wasn't so buzzed I'd have a more better response.

Debra's not going to be able to use that mouth as LT. Can you skip Sgt and go straight to LT?

They are really moving this season along at a nice pace so far, it's great!

You mean like the team-ups of Dex with Miguel, Arthur Mitchell and Lumen that we saw in the season premiere's 'Previously on Dexter' recap?

IF Quinn believes it truly IS over with Deb, he probably will go after Dex with a vengeance.
We all know how much Dex would like to introduce him to The Death Room.

As far as Deb knowing THE SECRET and living with it (or trying to cope with the knowledge), I don't know what she would do....
Without Dex in her world, perhaps she fears she would disintegrate????
He really is the only family she has.
The fear of losing him may be just enough to keep her quiet????

Yeah, all those factors, as well as, running the show may give her another perspective about which devils she dances with. Dancing with Dex and leveraging her knowledge would add some interesting storylines to future seasons (if they can get MCH to sign another contract).

I'm not an authority of this but I thought one had to be a sergeant for certain period of time before being eligible to take the lieutenant's exam. Those who pass the exam form the pool of available candidates.

^^^ Which is why Matthews played it beautifully by forcing LaGuerta to be the one that introduces Lieutenant Deborah Morgan to the public as someone she knew, trained and named for the position. If Lt. Morgan turns out to be a disaster Matthews will be shielded from the fallout for a decision he made by having it all fall on Maria's lap. If she does well then he will just step in front of the cameras (Matthews and Maria could each break a leg trying to step over each other in front of the media ) and take the credit for Deb's good performance, something Deb will be obliged to do since Matthews gave her the big break. Like Matthews says, Maria (and now by extension Deb) is now playing with the big boys.

Heads-up: Michael C. Hall is scheduled to be a guest on TBS' "Conan" on Wednesday night's show. The episode is scheduled after TBS' coverage of the MLB Playoffs and post-game show, which will be approx. 12:30AM ET but could be delayed/postponed because of the MLB game (it will start at 11PM in the Pacific Time Zone). Set your DVR with an extra hour or two of DVR padding if you're in the East Coast.

If you're a viewer of both "Dexter" AND "Breaking Bad" TV critic David Bianculli has an interesting piece (and also an NPR radio story) arguing that both shows share more than just having anti-heroes as lead characters: http://www.tvworthwatching.com/blog/...r-differ.shtml. If you haven't seen the latest season of "Breaking Bad" (that's you Emyach) or the latest "Dexter" episodes though, do not click these links.

Latest "Stupid for Dexter" episode, 'Once Upon a Time,' is up: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2oFj8BI7ZIY (51 min.) Special guest: Joe the Jock from the season premiere. Also, the new religous expert guy they've gotten to analyze the religious stuff this season is phenomenal and much better than Season 5's social worker (who wasn't bad to start). The expert's anecdote of how he became a "Dexter" viewer will ring awfully familiar to anybody here.

There must be a writer on staff for this show who does nothing but dream up new profanities for Deb to blurt out. I swear there's at least one new one for each episode, sometimes more. It can't be easy to keep coming up with new ones. I always look forward to hearing it every week.

According to a NY mag article Deb set a cable-TV record for Most F-Bombs Uttered by a Single Character (Non-Sopranos/Deadwood Category). Where did they get this data? They have categories for this? I'd love to see the list
