HDNet has picked up Saturday's Buffalo-Atlanta game. Play-by-play announcer Judd Sirott and color analyst Larry Murphy will call the game as the Sabres go for an NHL-record 11th consecutive win to start the season.

Pretty cool to see HDNET alter the schedule to pick up a game that could have historical implications.

a bit off topic but related to hdnet, every game they broadcast they say to enter for a chance to win a sweater, does anyone know where on their website you go to do this, thanks.

If you go to the main page for HDnet you will find a link there on the day of the game. There is also a time window involved as you have to sign up every game before they pick a winner between the 2nd and 3rd periods.

Yes and no. The pens flyers game would have been a great game to watch as they are such rivals and other current factors and I was looking forward to that game. Athough I am sure thrashers and sabres will be good.

Hopefully Murphy will look over the lineups before this one. With the Sharks-Preds game last night he kept referring to Milan Michalek and being Steve Bernier. On one play Michalek drew a penalty and they showed the replay 3 times. Even after the 3rd replay he was referring to him as Bernier, and the number was quite clearly #9 in HD. I wonder sometimes how these guys made it this far.

Well, to me it just means that they're actually paying attention to the sport, not just pre-setting their schedule and going through the motions.

Yeah we might see the Sabres a few more times in the near future if they can keep this streak up.

?...but the sabres won ten straight with no shootouts. If the sabres had won in OT shootout, you are saying that wouldn't be the same? I agree.

I wish OT could have continued till someone had won, especially in this case the shootout takes away from going for a record.

The first 4 games the Sabres played, 3 of them they won in shootouts(Carolina, Montreal and Detroit).

Shows how much I was paying attention. You are right, it is not the same.

Anybody in the Chicago area know what happens tonight regarding the Blackhawks at Flyers? It shows as being broadcast on Versus (which INHD shows). I'm wondering if there will be a blackout for us since it would ordinarily be shown on Comcast SportsNet - thing is, it doesn't show up in the listings at all on CSN, CSNHD, or CLTV...

All Versus telecasts are exclusive, there should be no blackouts.

Thank god. This last week has been a Sharks recording experiment for me. First game @ Red Wings was on channel 95 on DirecTV. I taped it all excited it would be in HD, but it turns out that was the Detroit feed and thus I got blacked out. Then on Thursday@ Nashville. The 5pm showing on HDnet was blacked out, but the replay at 8:30pm was shown. So this was the third situation tomorrow @ FLA on Versus. Seems like Fox Sports Bay Area is not carrying the game and thus I won't have any blackout chances. I feel better about this one.

FSN Bay Area's a little stingy about viewership. If they're not carrying the Sharks game, then they require your provider (cable or dish) to blackout the competing feed on Center Ice. The team and station can elect to provide a waiver to allow non-locally-broadcast games to be viewed on Center Ice within their coverage area. Nashville does this, and I'm sure some other teams do as well. Unfortunately, San Jose does not.

Does anyone know if the LA Kings/NY Rangers game was on channel 95 last night? It was in the guide since Sat or Sunday but after the Flyers/Hawks game it was gone. I think it was replaced by some PPV movie upcoming. The strange thing is I got msg 727(not available locally). I sub to NHL CTR ICE and have the HD package of course.

As far as I know it wasn't on. I was pretty pissed off to wake up this morning and check to see if I had the game and find out all I had was the D* logo staring me in the face. I am sick and tired of D* ****ing up it's HD schedule on 95. Either they don't show what's supposed to be on, or they put something on not listed in any of the guides (like last night's Versus game). Or, if they do get it right, they arbitrarily black things out in your area.

Usually when I am not sure about something really being on, I check when it starts. Unfortunately, I was not home last night to check.

A HD First happend this week.

For the first time ever the Chicago Blackhawks showed back to back games in HD. One at home and one on the road and the result was two shutouts.

If you didn't know the Blackhawks don't broadcast home games on TV. Let alone HD.

Who was the broadcaster for these two games? I know Versus did the Flyer game.

I'm getting pretty ticked at D* and their usage of channel 95. As mentioned here before, it NEVER has the right guide info. Tonights VS. game isn't being shown on it. What is? Nothing, until 2am Project MyWorld crapola. Why not show the game? Last week I lucked upon the VS. game on 95, again not listed in the guide data. D*, what am I supposed to do? Guess when you feel like being "generous" and show a nationally televised sports event? Luckily they've been pretty accurate with my local FSN games on that channel. Bah, rant over.

WRONG

CSN-Chicago had the Anaheim game in HD. Only about 5 home games on CSN this season, all are in HD.
