The fact that you think '30 Rock' is the best show on TV, let alone the best comedy, is hilarious. I enjoy the show too, as I've said, but c'mon. There are some 'Two and a Half Men' and 'According to Jim' fans out there that are probably really offended.

Hey, no offense meant, skyehill, just having a little fun.

No offense arch, but since you're piling on to two of my favorite shows, I should point out that you think the atrocity that is Battlestar Gallactica is the end all be all of serial TV and I believe about 10 people watch that on a weekly basis. Just pointing that out.

Hey, I was only piling on one of your favorite shows! I love The Office. Just don't quite think '30 Rock', which I also enjoy as I've oft stated (you musta' missed that part), is quite up to that standard. Different type of show, sure, but far more uneven in its execution. Without Baldwin, it would hurtin' bad. I think 'Weeds' is brilliant, in contrast, every time out of the gate. 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' is the flat-out funniest thing on the tube based on how hard and often I laugh, but it has some clunkers too. Some folks think 'Californication' is the cat's meow of comedy, but I find it more nihilistic than jocular. To each his own.

But, as we've discussed before, we'll just have to agree to disagree about BSG. I know it's not your thing; LOST either. But dang if I don't love the frak out of 'em. Great art, my dear Sangs, is never appreciated in its time.

Whaddya talking about? I haven't missed a second of Lost since its inception. I don't scour the web searching for clues to unlock the hidden treasures of Lost like some of the - umm, hmm, well, let's call them dedicated fans of the show - do, but it is must-see TV for me every week.

As for your Galactic adventures, you can shove those up the space time continium and flush 'em into deep space nine for all I care.

You're a LOST fan? Never seen you in the thread here... You do know that the fan bases for those two shows hugely overlap don't you? They're about the only long-form serial shows left on TV, I believe (FX's 'Damages' & AMC's 'Mad Men' are two more that immediately come to mind). Certainly, the most complex. Diff'runt strokes, as they say...

This show is so inconsistant the last few episodes had me wondering if the writers strike had done it in but then this last episode was one of the funniest since the show started. Such a difference from the last few. I hope the rest of the episodes are even half as good.

For those interested in the new season of 30 Rock, you can see the entire first episode on Hulu.com a week early (starting now).

I didn't see another thread but I am surprised no one commented on this week's premiere of 30 Rock. One of its best episodes since it started. I am glad it was so good I was worried after it dipped a bit last season but this was one of the funniest episodes on TV.

I hate tina fey and baldwin, I don't know which one more then the other.

Just watching a trailer for 30 rock was enough to put it on the cancel list for me.

I am no longer able to watch a movie. I am monitoring a video display with regards to chroma, brightness, contrast and correct pulldown.

While parts of the first episode of season 3 were great, overall I didn't think it was one of the show's strongest episodes. But an average 30 Rock is still better than anything else on TV. It was also good to see that their viewership was way up, but who knows how long that will last, and if the bump was caused by people wanting to see the Palin lady's show.

I couldn't agree more! I watched it with my son and two 15 year old grandsons, and we howled from beginning to end. By the way, I think that both Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin are big time comic talents. Baldwin is a pretty pitiful excuse for a human being, of course, but he is a great actor and has a lot of range. Fey, in addition to being a wonderful comedienne and a very pretty lady, created 30 Rock and is a skillful comedy writer. Thus, criticizing their talent seems to me, to put is mildly, to have been ill considered.

It's "more than the other." Than indicates comparison or degree. Then indicates time.

It? It, the trailer? It, the show? Unclear referent.

I see the much-heralded relationship between humor and education holds up nicely in the real world.

Great episode last night. High rating due to Oprah's appearance.

Tina Fey (as Princess Leia at Jury Duty) : I don't believe I should be on a jury because I can read thoughts.

Kenneth: There's a whole channel on the cable that tells you what's on all the other channels!

Tracy: I watched Boston Legal nine times before I realized it wasn't a new Star Trek!

Wow, I was actually unimpressed. I liked last week's episode, but this one fell flat for me. I didn't really find anything funny about Tracy and Jenna's fight, and I could see the Oprah thing a mile away. I did laugh at the Boston Legal/Star Trek comment, though. Hopefully next week's gets better.

I like 30 Rock better all the time. This week's episode was hilarious. I howled during the who-has-it-worse-women-or-blacks segment when both sides used Adrean Brody having kissed Halle Berry as an example of how hard they had it. I also thought that that Liz's drug induced Oprah hallucination was inspired, as was the elevator scene with the hapless but suicidally unselfish Kenneth. There was a lot of other good stuff, too. This is a very smart, very funny show.
