there's 35+ years of past history he can base his hunches on, which I'm sure we'll hear about.

I'm wondering if Pres. Logan will pop up at any point

Who would that be?

She's not David's daughter, she's David (and Wayne's) sister.

Or, yet another family member that hasn't even been referenced the past six years.

(As far as soap opera-ness, how about the idea that the reason the kid looks so much like Kim is that Kim is really Jack and Graham's wife's, and he and Teri raised her as theirs I sincerely hope that doesn't turn out to be a spoiler. )

I'm sure since there is talk that Joshua is actually Jack's son, its not a hard stretch to find that Wayne's sister is actually Sherry's daugther....come on, its 24!

We knew his dad was going to be on the show, so that wasn't given away. Does it really matter if we know a week early who the actor is? Half the time the previews are done in a way that is kind of deceiving anyway....make you think one thing is happening, but it's really something else when you watch the episode.

I refuse to watch the previews after they gave away a MAJOR spoiler in Season 2. Kim and Kickboxing Jared Leto escape in Gary's car. The preview showed the cop pulling them over and looking in the trunk and then freaking out and arresting them. Didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what was in there.
I even fast-forward through the 'previously' bits as they frequently show a character who is missing/presumed dead/not been in the show for awhile and this is a huge signpost that they'll return in this episode.
The one thing I love about this show is the 'OHMYGOD' moments (nukes going off, Jack shooting Curtis) and the previews and re-caps dilute it too much for me. YMMV.

Hey.... on the HD side of discussion...

Has anyone noticed 24 in HD looking much better this season then in past seasons? The PQ seems like it has improved. I have not made any changes to my settings or changed equipment. The detail in Feyhed's face when he was driving in the car rivaled the detail seen in Tom Cruise's face at the beginning of MI-3 on HD-DVD.

It may just be me, but it appears that Fox may have stepped up the production a bit. Maybe in expectation of releasing season 6 on Blu-Ray after the season's end? Anyone else notice an improvement?

Last Watched 3D: Oz the Great and Powerful

It should be called Violet-Ray

I agree, the PQ is stunning on my end, though severly lacking in audio. I don't know if its my area or just me but I have to crank the volume up when watching this and other fox shows, as opposed to say CBS where I have to turn it down. I guess its a network isue then.

Seems about the same to me. Remember that close-ups are always going to look stellar, even back when they were doing 480p "enhanced resolution" or whatever they called it. And, no matter how you cut it, FOX still does 720p, not 1080i, so it's never going to look quite as crisp & sharp as CBS or NBC's shows (depending on your display).

I agree it looks much better this year. Having said that, I'll wait until the season is over to judge it on the whole. We've had little night filming, so the final 9 hours or so when they are outside will go a long way to seeing how good things really are. The night filming last year was heavy on the grain and looked terrible, but even the inside shots during those last hours wasn't up to par.

Has anybody else had audio drop outs watching 24 on Dish?

It's the only show I've had this problem on.

This is the first season I've watched in HD, so I can't compare. (Only had the HDTV for a few weeks. Made sure I got my TiVo S3 before the new season started.)

However, the fleshtones in this show are driving me nuts. Some people look greenish, others look magenta. I don't have this problem with other shows or even the commercials shown during "24". Is the lighting on this show that messed up?

Was it just this last episode?

The first four hours were perfect OTA here in Denver, but this week's episode had a few audio glitches.

He flew the first warp drive ship that got the attention of the Vulcans. He is considered the father of warp drive, but many worked on it, but it was his idea.

I love 24 and have watched every episode that's shown, but I gotta say that the show is quickly becoming a soap opera, and the writers have jumped the shark. C'mon, does bluetooth REALLY have to be Jack's brother ? Why couldn't he just be part of the Illumanati, the secret group that runs the world ? Besides, Bluetooth guy was in part of the plan (as well as the father) to have a nuke blowup in L.A. Why would he and his family remain in the state, no less the city, in the timeframe that the nuke was to go off? If I knew that, me and my family would be at Disneyland in Orlando, on the other side of the country, or even on another continent.

Why would Hassad, a known terrorist, be transported to D.C., the nations capitol, even if he does have a written agreement with the president to help out ? Move him to the Midwest, or wherever, but not too close to where the President is.

If you had 5 nuclear bombs, why would you set them off all in one "area", ie California ? Spread them around the country. With all the contacts Fayed has, does he not know anyone outside the L.A. area ? Have all the muslim terrorists all moved to California, not anyone of the other 49 states ?

Too funny.
Regardless of how many memorable roles he's played, I always see him as Stretch Cunningham from All in the Family. No matter who he's supposed to be, I see Archie's good old buddy, Stretch.

The nuke was not supposed to be detonated in LA. Remember the phone call to the guy who sourced the electronic trigger device. "What are you doing setting off one of the bombs in MY city?" It obviously was never part of the plan to have them go off in LA. I'm sure the plan is to spread them out. We don't yet know the plan, so we will see.

I think that particular nuke was planned for downtown LA. The supplier was just expecting to receive a warning prior to detonation if LA was a target.

Same here. Every time I see him, in whatever role, I say to myself or whoever is there "Hey, it's Stretch Cunningham."

That is correct because he wanted a warning, plus they were planning on leaving for vegas, so he knew and was preparing to leave.
