Kudos to NFLN for going the extra mile to produce this game in HD. The effort is much appreciated!

Anyone know which channel this game will air on Cablevision? It is not listed in their program guide.

Can't wait for this game. Should be interesting to see two teams coming off tough losses in their regular season finale. Rice/Leonard versus Freeman. Should be a dandy

BTW, who will be doing the pxp for the game?

I just stumbled upon NFLN on channel 414 on Cablevision (New York). It was by sheer accident, since they choose to keep their subscribers in the dark (it says "Flyers @ Islanders, 1/2" on the program guide, and NOTHING about it on their website).

I highly doubt it will be in HD, since it's on a channel on their "digital basic" tier (which is only used for NHL/NBA overflow, and looks like crap).

Damn, I hate CV. They never get it right.

And I'm so sick of these networks/cable companies and their pissing contests.

Well, anyway . . . GO SCARLET KNIGHTS!

"NFL Network's broadcast team for the Texas Bowl features game analysts Sterling Sharpe and Mike Mayock alongside play-by-play announcer Spero Dedes."

http://www.nfl.com/nflnetwork/story/9563385

In other words, put it on mute and listen to some good music instead.

For some reason my guide had the game scheduled for 8:30 - 11:00 on the HD Special Events channel. And it has the Insight Bowl as 9:00 - 10:00 on Friday. The NFL Network SD channel has the correct times.

Game also looked great on channel 206 here in my area, Comcast of NJ II(Union) system.

Sterling Sharpe was very good. But the play-by-play announcer was bad, really bad:

1- First, he insisted that RU was in South Jersey - Wrong, it's Central NJ, and one can make a case for Northern NJ, but that's it.
2- Then he created a campus for RU in South Brunswick

Finally at the tail end of the game, he placed RU at it appropriate place, Piscataway, NJ.

Anyway, the world is RED TODAY, SCARLET KNIGHTS RED!

I think the PQ was better than any NFL game that NFLNet has aired this year. Via D*.

Congrats RU !!

FiOS TV.
I have commented on the PQ of NFL Network HD games before but I feel compelled to comment again. IMHO this is the best-looking HD football I have ever seen. It ranks right there with HDNet's best. The networks can't touch it. Last night's game was no exception. I don't care anything about college football but the PQ kept me tuned in. Watching on a 46-inch DLP 720p.

Nice win for RU. I still have bad lip sync issues on the NFL Network. Comcast Central New Jersey.

NOT ONLY WAS THIS BROADCAST THREATENED... NOT ONLY WAS IT LACKING HIGH DEF... THE STANDARD PICTURE QUALITY WAS UNWATCHABLE.

I have not seen an image this poor since before cable... yes people there was a time where rabbit ears and tin foil was the optimal way to get a good picture..

I had 30 people over to watch Rutgers kick some ass on my 50" plasma and they all laughed at the image.

We called it "impressionist-o-vision" since the image looked like a really bad impressionist painting.

I can't wait for FIOS

Bill - I am so jealous... Cablevision royally screwed this up then because the broadcast was completely unwatchable.

Were you watching it on the analog guide channel or the digital broadcast on channel 414? I thought it looked like a typical SD digital broadcast on my Sony HDTV on CV channel 414.

Must be the provider. I have Comcast NJ and have the exact opposite opinion. It is the WORST HD football I have seen. The RU game was a bit better than some previous NFL games, but in general the PQ for me has been abysmal.
