From NFL.com

STORYLINE: Matt vs. DeMarcus.

Of course, that's not the only key matchup of the game -- you've got Dallas RBs Julius Jones (1,084 yards) and Marion Barber (14 rush TDs, third most in the league) against 2007 Pro Bowl LBs Julian Peterson and Lofa Tatupu -- but it may be pivotal.

The Seahawks and QB Matt Hasselbeck have operated behind an OL in injury flux this year, and have surrendered the most sacks of the 12 playoff teams -- 49. The Cowboys come off a loss to Detroit in which they used a four-man front that helped produce five sacks. Three came from starting Pro Bowl LB DeMarcus Ware, who tied San Diego's Shaun Phillips (11.5) for the second-most LB sacks this season.

"The NFC East is a very physical division," says Seahawks head coach Mike Holmgren. "When you play Dallas, you know you've got to deal with their defense. They are capable of not giving up any points."

Of course, Dallas can't over-commit, or RB Shaun Alexander -- with an NFL-best string of 64 games with a run of 10 yards or more -- can burn them.

PQ seems better on this game than the first on WVIT-DT via Comcast Cable 6412 Phase II DVR.

I have to agree. Something needs to be done about the fly-over cam. It's showing up in nearly every shot.

I'm watching on Verizon FIOS in Crofton,MD. Interestingly the Baltimore NBC is not in DD5.1 but the Washington DC NBC is. Picture quality is pretty sharp on my DLP in both cases.

Watching in Garland Texas on Fios. They seem to be having some problems The picture is breaking up and jerky sometimes. It went to 4:3 and just now went back to 16:9.

I know that the playoffs have begun, but here are my NFL playoff predictions (I made these predictions before the games began and haven't changed them since):

In the AFC wild card games:
Indy beats KC
NE beats Jets

In the NFC Wild Card games:
Dallas beats Seattle
Giants beat Philly
___________

Dallas and NO in the NFC championship.
Baltimore and NE in the AFC championship.

Baltimore and NO in the Super Bowl.
Baltimore beats NO by double digits

I've been getting a ton of pixelation throughout the broadcast. Interestingly, it was there during the KC/Indy game too. But between games, when broadcasting from the studio, it was clean. I'm watching it on the local affiliate, KING5 in Seattle via Directv.

It shows up across the center 3rd of the screen or the top 3rd most of the time.

This started yesterday with KING5 Seattle and KIRO7 Seattle last night. I thought at the time it might be weather related, as we were having a pretty good storm. I checked my signal strength tonight, and every transponder except one is above 90.

It's happening on both of my receivers too - an HR20 and my HD tuner-only. (H15?)

FYI...

If the Giants and Dallas win the wild card games, then NO plays Dallas and Giants play Chicago next weekend....

Dallas could only meet NO is the NFC Championship if Phily beats NY

Well, that's what happens when you're a novice. I thought that the NFL playoffs had a fixed bracket system...

Since that's not so, if my NFC wild card picks are correct, I'll take New Orleans over Dallas, and Chicago over the Giants. I still would have New Orleans going to Miami.

If Philly wins tomorrow's game vs. the Giants, then my picks for the NFC championship game (and its victor) are still the same as before.

I too am having the same issue! Im watching through local comcast cable, WNDU 16 South Bend, In. Like grimmwit said studio shots look clean, but as soon as action gets going it gets pixelated like crazy. It was driving me nuts on the KC/Indy game and now the Sea/Dallas game. What gives?

As noted here many times before, NBC has HD network distribution issues, and if your local affiliate is multicasting, that will also degrade HD image quality.

Setup:

WJAC-DT with one WeatherPlus subchannel
Comcast cable of State College, PA
Moto 6412 PIII connected via HDMI to Sony 30XS955 tube HDTV

Quality:

8/10

Comments:

Looks good like first game. There may be slightly better PQ but nothing that distinguishable on my setup.

EDIT: It must be pretty windy there. I have seen both Hasselback and Romo throw some duck passes.

Current conditions show winds from the South, 10mph.

More likely is Hasselback and Romo are related to ducks. Neither of these teams will survive next weekend.

Great job on NBC's part to move the 16x9 image into the 4x3 frame for that review.
