Peter Pan does not have the "more" option next to it like the previous Wonderful World of Disney movies. Usually the more info page will have the ABC HD logo on it to confirm it will be in HD. Peter Pan going to be in HD? I'll probably check it out a little bit but The Office is on and it's an episode I didn't archive then there's MMA on CBS...

The following week currently shows Wipeout repeats instead of a movie on Zap2It.com...

I'm longing for a day when all severe weather coverage is on the subchannel...

Next week the movie is on Friday Night and not Saturday.

Peter Pan will be OAR 4:3 HD

Sure it was, it was beautiful in HD. Just because it was 4:3 doesn't mean it wasn't. Peter Pan's OAR is 1.37:1.

Exactly....and thank you ABC for not going the "fill the screen" route.

For an animated feature from 1952, it looked great. You don't see that level of cel animation these days.

On abc.com, for August 9th, it says "Shark Tale." I'm dying to know what will be shown on the 2nd.

August 2nd will be 2 Wipeout reruns and Eli Stone. However, on Friday the 1st, ABC has A Series of Unfortunate Events as the movie. Why on Friday? I'm not sure...

not all HD is 16:9 just like not all 16:9 is HD

zap2it, titantv and yahoo all have it listed as HD.

I don't have a DVD to compare it too though

Wow. Lost a number of posts due to the "Crash of '08".

I previously posted that War Of the Worlds and Shark Tale were shown on consecutive nights (8/8 & 8/9). I guess ABC is trying to shore up an offense against the Olympics.

This coming Friday and Saturday, they have Legally Blonde and Legally Blonde 2 on tap. A ploy to grab the female viewers, me thinks.

Reminder for Madagascar tonight. Collateral snuck up on me last night, but I think it was previously mentioned in one of the infamously deleted posts. Was listed as a replay, but I don't recall it being on ABC before.

How was "Madagascar"? I've seen it in SD, but how about HD? Once again, WEWS in Cleveland decided to dump the Disney movie for their own sh*tty movie. Tonight it was "Cinderella Man" in what looked like digital widescreen(since the SD channel was letterbox). Whoopee!!! I HATE Cleveland TV!!!!

I guess everyone else here in every other city got to watch "Madagascar" but nickdawg!!

Madagascar was excellent in HD as expected. Watching computer animation in HD is always a strange reminder of what the broadcast system is capable of. The level of detail just outdoes the film content we're used to by so much. I guess it's a nice reminder of how much detail in some HD is lost on the production end rather than just the evils of multicasting.

Watching Japanese animation in 720p is truly eye-popping. I think it's because the line art is so precise. Too bad we can't watch [adult swim] in HD since they just started showing Seirei no Moribito. Hands down it's the most beautiful animated work for television I've ever seen.

ABC's website has Catch Me if You Can listed on their schedule tonight. Good movie, but they last showed it just 3-4 months ago.

ARRRRGH! I wish they would re-broadcast 'Forrest Gump'. Last time it was supposed to be shown, local ABC didn't show it. Even if they did show it last time it was on, I could watch it again. Great movie. And it's 2.35:1!!!

I'm not getting the movie in HD here, still getting the local upconvert of the SD feed.

no HD of the movie, what's the point.

At no point in your rambling, incoherent post were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this forum is now dumber for having read it.
