Another page one....the world keeps moving on....

Fred, any predictions on Heroes' ratings tonight? Will it suffer from Hiatus-itus like LOST and Jericho?

archiguy 04-23-2007 07:10 AM

Just thought I'd drop in and welcome Fred to his new home. Looks a lot like his last home, but less filling (as in server space).

Kracko 04-23-2007 07:10 AM

Someone turns the lights out on the old thread.

harley1 04-23-2007 07:12 AM

Fred if you could please check the Sports Business Journal for the number of NHL Center Ice sub numbers . I would greatly appreciate it

steverobertson 04-23-2007 07:17 AM

Fre,

Congratulations on almost bringing the old server to its knees as I am sure this will as well over time.

shuttermaker 04-23-2007 07:20 AM

Ahhh...nothing like a new coat of paint to brighten the place up a bit. LOL

Baldmaga 04-23-2007 07:38 AM

Congrats on the first thread being so successful, hopefully this one can reach the same ceiling as the other one did

jim tressler 04-23-2007 07:43 AM

turansformer 04-23-2007 07:45 AM

Fred, I'd also like to thank you for the up to date info you keep on this thread. This has become my primary location for checking up on the latest TV news. Keep up the good work!

I highly doubt it. Everyone I know is chomping at the bit for Heroes tonight. It didn't suffer at all in the ratings after the Christmas break. It is just that good, people will wait for it and not give up on it due to a long break.

fredfa 04-23-2007 08:04 AM

Yesterday's metered market over-night prime-time ratings - and Media Week Analyst Marc Berman's view of what they mean -- have been posted at the top of Ratings News the second post in this thread.

Good to hear...I love this show and would hate to see it fall victim to poor scheduling decisions.

fredfa 04-23-2007 08:25 AM

Thanks for all the kind words. They are much appreciated.

Now if any of you know people who are as interested in television as you are, why not copy the Hot Off The Press site link and email it to him or her (or preferably, them!) Let's get even more people participating here and joining the AVS family.

And keep checking in during the next few weeks to keep up with all the latest news about new, returning and cancelled shows as the networks gear up for their upfronts which start three weeks from today.

For the civilians among us, the "upfronts" refer to a series of meetings held by the networks mainly for advertisers to try to get them to commit money ahead of time ("upfront") for TV shows not yet produced -- as well as for returning programs in the upcoming prime time TV season.

The networks traditionally announce their fall schedules at the upfronts -- although those are always subject to change.

fredfa 04-23-2007 08:27 AM

To answer an earlier question, my guess would be that "Heroes"will return with about the same numbers it had, maybe a shade fewer. I don't think it has come close to reaching the burnout point that seems to have afflicted "Lost".

(And I wouldn't be at all surprised if the ratings don't sctually improve a little.)
