I spit up my drink at the start of the show this past monday. Hank wakes up from his dream and says something to the effect of, "okay I kissed the tip". Can someone confirm the line 'cause it was really funny.

Does the word "plagarism" ring a bell?

And how does Hank handle this? If he complains and is questioned about he knew his material, he'd be in big trouble and most likely, arrested, if he confesses that it was he who had the sexual bout with the 16-year old (Mia).

Even though it was clearly consensual on both sides (and he didn't know she was 16), there's a little matter of the law: 1) Statuatory rape, 2) contributing to the delinquency of a minor, 3) any other charges I might have missed.

Not to mention the damage it will do with Karen and his child.

I heard Hank say, "DON'T kiss the tip!" which is something I've blurted out once or twice in those precious seconds immediately following... release.

I can't confirm Hank's line at this moment, but since the episode should be On-Demand by now, I can do so later.

Figured it was really a two parter for me. I mean what will happen with Hank and the book? He has at least one person to believe him but alas he has admitted what will happen if she speaks up.

Also Mia is doing a amazing mind-job on Hank. Yet how a 16-yr who is not rated as a genius is able to pull this off is one of the reasons I find this unbelievable. She is able to carry on a conversation well beyond her years.

Yeah, both the actress playing Mia and her lines are far older and more mature than could be credibly attributed to a 16 year old. Still, I have enjoyed Mia and the actress who plays her, too old though she may be. Mia is a delicious combination of sociopath, libertine, and compulsive liar. In short, she's a worthy foil for Hank.

I'm just waiting to see how (if?) Hank and Charlie get back at Dani and Mia without destroying all of the other relationships - except for Karen and Bill's of course....

So.... did Karen spend the night with Hank and Becca? And when will we see Becca playing that sweet Gibson Les Paul Special (in TV Yellow) that they bought a couple episodes back?

That's what i'm trying to figure out. In the trailer for next week Karen is telling Marci she slept with Hank. But i'm not sure if she was talking about that night or from Calif Son.

Great season finale.
The very end almost seemed like they planned it or it was a joke.
2nd Season will be great.

That whole scene with the 2 gals in the window was nice.

Dish had a 3 month free trial. This show might have me subscribing to Showtime. What a great show! Some of the best written TV that I have seen. David Duchovny has never wowed me, but he is perfect for this role. I don't watch many TV series, but everytime this is on I am astonished at how many great "TV moments" I experience.

The O. Henry-esque ending was neat. I was wondering how they might finish it up until then. I still can't decide whether it really happened or Hank imagined it, but I suspect it was the real deal. Before that, I enjoyed Mia's scene at the wedding ceremony. Like so much of this show it was kinda funny, kinda sweet, and kinda sad. I am looking forward to Season Two.

As I was watching it last night, I was wondering how they were going to do the next season, until Karen jumped into the back of the car, easily, I might add, with her long legs.
Californication is a very good show, I just hope Showtime doesn't do to it what they did to "Dead Like Me" and cancel it, while they leave other junk on.

Becca is a together girl, has better sense, and is far better grounded than either her father or her mother. I have a hard time dealing with how that could gave happened, given her alcoholic, slacker father, and her inked-up mother who looks like a fugitive from a biker bar? No matter, it's FUN stuff.

Great season finale!

Becca is clearly the glue holding everything together. Moving in with Hank because that's what he needs, also affected Karen to see what she is losing. Then Karen missing her "female moment" was the final straw.

So what is next year's storyline - Bill tries to get Karen back?

Karen realizes why she left Hank to begin with and goes back to Bill in season premier. This show wouldnt work with them as a couple.

Bill and Karen, Hank-Karen and Becca, The stolen manuscript and associated sexual misconduct, Charlie, Marci and Dani and associated sexual misconduct, Hank Charlie, Dani & Mia. Theres no shortage of material for season two and I can't wait! In the last three episodes "Californication" has risen to the top of my must see list. The finale was hillarious, my favorite part was the scene in the store. "You Can't Allways Get What You Want" is one of my favorite Stones songs and I fully endorse any excuse to insert it into a TV or movie soundtrack.

If you think about it, its not that hard to believe. What is the job of a child to do? - rebel against your parents, which is to behave the opposite of your parents

That makes a lot of sense. Maybe Becca is as mature and responsible as she is because she realizes that somebody in the family has to act like a grownup. Come to think of it, Becca is the only one in the show, with the possible exception of Karen's uptight ex-fiancé/husband, Bill, whose conduct resembles in any way that of a responsible adult. No wonder the show is so much fun! After all, who wants to see stories about grownups doing grownup things?

If this show doesn't have you subscribing, Dexter should. Your post would work as-is in the Dexter thread, if you replace "David Duchovny" with "Michael C. Hall." Oh, and Michael C. Hall WILL wow you!

I hope Californication comes back. If it doesn't, it was a fun ride. Now that Karen is "back", where are they going to take the series?

I'm pretty sure that, at the end, it said "Coming Soon", something about Season 2. I would think that if this was over - it would have ended with a black screen, with Journey singing"Don't stop believing". :-)
