Wow...the dialog was on point tonight. The jokes were over the top. That whole gather at the table conversation was over the top even for California (well maybe not Santa Cruz).

I love how this show stays relevant even in its sophomore season.

Obligatory geek talk

The PQ was soft as heck tonight but so what.

Since this forum deals with AV. I have 2 questions:
1. In a couple of scenes, you see a reel-to-reel tape deck. Anyone have a clue which one?
2. In a couple of epsisodes, Hank has an Avid turntable, I wonder what the rest of his gear.

Must be an analog guy. Yippee

This ain't no party, this ain't no disco

I agree. IMO, the show continues to "force" over-the-top jokes and lines on us at times. It also continues to try to be too cool, preachy, and hip IMO on too many occasions - without the need to. It's a shame in my opinion because in every episode there seems to be some really intuitive, great writing. There are parts of the show (usually at the very end) where the dialogue and interactions seem very real and emotionally engaging. Much of the rest of the lines seem like superficial attempts at hip humor. I continue to watch because it still has some potential for me ..

Funny episode last night. Hanks such a gentlemen
Meredith Monroe (Chloe Metz) was great. I liked the noises she maked and the way she clapped her hands together insight of joy.

I couldn't agree more! Monroe as Chloe Metz was pretty, sexy, obnoxious, and vulnerable, all rolled into one. Her character confirmed for me what I had always thought about cooking show divas -- except that most of them don't seem very vulnerable.

Wednesday 2 more HD channels will be added to TWC San Diego's line up. Food Network HD (751) and HGTV HD (753). This applies to the Cisco Areas (non ex adelphia). Up to 8 to 13 more HD channels will be added. I believe that MGM HD will be added to the HD VIP pack which has a ton of different names in non San Diego divisions.

Loved the last two episodes...

The dinner table scene at the party was a classic

The sex-crazed food network host was even better...

Leoben continues to be awesome...

Maybe its me, but I thought the food show hostess was one of hottest lays on the series to date.

I think its also one of the very few times I've ever seen the hate-f..k issue addressed on television. Way overdue.

How 'bout the expression on Duchovny's face when she's screaming "Ream me with your half-black c**k" ? I couldn't help but think that was supposed to be a 'breaking the fourth wall" parody on Duchovny's reputed prowess.

I thought that the Chloe Metz role was brilliantly written. The notion that she is the kind of woman many, maybe most, men would want to "hate f**k" was totally convincing. I don't think I have ever seen a female character who combined such high levels of sexual attractiveness and loud obnoxiousness. Still, in the end I felt sorry for her more than anything else. Chloe is an essentially sad lady who is usually her own worst enemy. Come to think of it, you could say the same about Hank.

Extremely well done. When Hank and Chloe were doing their thing and Hank said something like, "I'm delcaring jihad on your p----", I almost fell out of my chair. BTW, the term "hate f---" was new to me; around these parts we call it "rage f---." Anyway, a classic!

Not as good as last episode and would you, as a parent, really let your child hang out at Leoben's/Lew's place? Does that seem like the right environment for your teenage daugther...and Maya...oh well, I guess we all saw that coming...

A very Runkle-centric episode though...lots of funny scenes there

I agree. I think that Charley and Marcy Runkle are almost as funny as Hank, himself. Charley's stint as stand in in for the coke-addled porn store was very funny. The best part of this show is that no matter how funny it is, it has a core of sadness and never quite lets us lose sight of what sad and desperate losers so many of the people in it are. By the way, one of the quiet but funny running sight gags in the show has been the continuing deterioration of Hank's once pristine Porsche cabriolet.

I agree that Ashby's home is not the best place for her to be. But, if Hank wants to see his daughter that's where she would have to be since he is living there. Hank did however keep an eye on her. And for what its worth i thought that ep was really teriffic.

Curious to know if they've shown his car being ticketed for the busted headlight. More than once?

If a cop sees it, a "fix-it" ticket is usually issued in these cases ("fix-it" ticket - fix the problem and the ticket will be dismissed).

Agreed. Evan Handler and Pamela Adlon's scenes have gotten screamingly funny this year. Their sense of comic timing is incredible. I watched the last two episodes on On Demand last night and was laughing my a%$ off. This stuff has gotten so funny that it's difficult not to. I did think that Justine Bateman didn't age as well as Jason has though. She was, however, a welcome addition to the show as is Madchen Amick. All sorts of possibilities there

I thought that Justine and David had very good chemistry. They were great together in The TV Set too. I'd love to see them get together on the show. About how Justine looks. Well, I saw her in person at Tribeca for The TV Set and she looked very good.

Minor point, but we have not seen the Porsche in pristine condition. It has been falling apart over the course of the series but it wasn't so hot to begin with (since episode 1).
He did briefly get a brand new Porsche to replace it but it didn't last long, I can't remember the details but he had to return to the clunker last season.

I was cracking up when the porn director first saw Marcy. He said something to the effect "is she the spinner?".
Funny because she is so small but I also laughed because it reminded me of a recent Entourage episode when a hot tall model called E a spinner.

I think he hit a garbage can on the curb during the first season. I cannot remember exactly but I think it involved alcohol.
His new one was stolen in a carjacking, I have always wondered why it wasn't insured.

The only time we saw the Porsche look good was in the flash back episode California Son
