VOIPo 24 months for $150 unlimited calling. Works out to less than $8/mo after taxes. Decent price on the internet though.

That sucks. I've got an install scheduled for the middle of next month after I figure out which CableCARD tuner to get for my HTPC. If Charter doesn't come through with more HD in the rest of CA, I will cancel that and just stick with Uverse. Can you pass that along? If you want new customers you have to deliver the product. When I made the appointment I was told, and I have a copy of the chat, that this was going to be happening mid-June but, as usual, Charter's website never really shows you what you're getting and how much it really costs. The bundle builder is junk because it doesn't have all offerings available that actually can save a customer money by doing a chat or phone call.

So nobody at Charter really knows what's going on to the point that even next month is an unknown?

We are unable to release specifics until all agreements and plans are finalized. The only information we have available for markets outside of those that have been notified is that we plan to expand all markets to at least 100 HD channels by the enxd of the year. I can assure you that we are doing everything that we can to meet this goal and appreciate your patience as we work hard to get the necessary upgrades and agreements in place.

Thanks,

Dylan

Sammy please see my previous post about San Luis Obispo county in CALIFORNIA. We never get announcements therefore St. Louis doesn't know until the last minute about our additions. We have gotten over 30 HD additions in the last month.

Interesting. That is good news but it seems that Charter needs to do a better job of communicating. I mean they are a communication company after all.

Umatter says the SLO county is a test area (Whatever that means) for the rest of CA. THey said even though I have HD additions the official launch is still in the future. I'm getting about 2-5 extra channels a week.

Good evening Sammy2,

Unfortunately in most cases we do not offer customer beta programs for HD additions. Mostly in part to the fact that we do not get access to the HD streams until the paperwork between us, and the network is finalized, Dylan had also mentioned this in his previous post.

Thanks,

Jeremy

Wouldn't it be more effective to negotiate with the provders on a national basis rather than hodgepodge region by region?

What's with this situation?

Have been waiting and waiting for addition of ION (East and West) to Charter channel lineup forever. Please respond, Charter folks...

More lineups have been added with HD additions.

This batch seems to cover all the Michigan lineups and some more lineups in CA.

Michigan gets all the movie channels, but only 7 new networks: HSN HD (new to Charter), QVC HD, G4 HD, GSN HD, MTV2 HD, TV Land HD and Hallmark Movies Channel HD. I was expecting more new stuff there, as that is a large Charter cluster and a cluster that was ahead of most other markets before.

California so far seems to be dependent on the lineup. SLO gets more new channels than they already had, the LA lineups lose a few premiums and networks due to having more HD locals.

Hi Dan,

We do not have any specific upcoming additions listed for your area. However, we plan to have 100 HD channels in all markets by the end of the year. If you have any specific requests, please feel free to PM us. We're always happy to pass along your requests.

Thank you,
Abby

According to tvguide.com, they show for San Luis Obispo, CA 7 additional channels not seen in the official release.

The channels it shows are the following:
629 C-SPAN HD (would be new to Charter)
664 Outdoor Channel HD
666 MavTV HD (would be new to Charter)
667 ESPNEWS HD
668 WFN HD
669 Sportsman HD
727 GMC HD

Being that there's been some hinting of an additional HD batch beyond the goal of 100, could this be a sign of it in California?

Good morning oriolesmagic,

There is a good possibility that some areas will have over 100 HD channels, but the goal is to have 100 in ALL markets by end of year. Let us know if you have any other questions.

Thank you,
Abby

Umatter2Charter Is the plan for Texas especially North Texas to have everyone on SDV to get the 100 HD channels by the end of the year? The North Texas region is in a weird position due to it having systems that are 450MHz, 550MHz, 750MHz, and 860MHz. Are all of the system going to be upgraded to 860MHz? I know that the Charter system in Denton Texas is 550MHz and has gone all digital expanded basic are they going to stay at 550MHz and just add SDV?

Well what uses up the most bandwidth is analog. You could have 100 HD channels and that would only use up 300 MHz at most and probably closer to 200-250 MHz. The SD digital versions of those 100 HD channels would use up maybe another 80 MHz at most. If they killed off those analogs on basic you could have enough bandwidth with 550 MHz without having to use SDV.

pm sent please note I gave you multiple addresses in two systems in North Texas where I have family currently living at both addresses. I am just wondering how the systems in these area will compare to where I live by the end of the Year as I live close to charter serviced areas but I have TWC.

Abby,

My question is this:

tvguide.com listings show these channels. Your launch sheet for that market does not. Are these channels coming as well or can that not be confirmed yet?

Those channels cannot be confirmed just yet. However, I can advise that we are going through some testing prior to additional HD channel launches in California. We will provide more detailed communication to you when our plans are finalized. Until then, you may see some new HD channels pop up unannounced. This is due to the testing.

For example:

Question for Umatter2charter. Are you counting PPV channels in your 100 HD channels for every market? How many HD PPV channels does each system average?
