Agree. DVRed and watched this 2-hour show this morning. Covers similar territory of many programs on the Discovery channels and elsewhere, but does a better job on the history and the use of graphics IMO. Wonder if this one is available on HD discs? -- John

Whoops, silly me.
I was posting in 'Science,Technology, Nature Shows You'd Like to See'
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1174668

Good episode last night. I thought there wasn't any form of liquid on other planets.
It still amazes me when they say there is 100 million trillion tons of water on the Earth.

I like the new? feature on the show called "Ask the universe" where the public writes in and the hosts of the show answer's their questions.

This is one of my favorite shows on TV. I enjoy astronomy to begin with, but the way they gradually reveal things throughout each episode just keeps me glued to the TV. (This even includes stuff I know they're going to talk about.)

Sure, it's mostly CG, but it's a real treat to watch. If it was ever released, I'd easily put The Universe on my Blu-Ray shelf next to Planet Earth as must-watch (repeatedly) nature television.

I liked tonight's episode titled "Pulsars & Quasars"
Mickey Hart's music based from Pulsar notes was really interesting.
Alex Filippenko is cool, always enjoy what he has to say.
This show has really good CGI 'eye candy' for HD displays.

I agree I know there is an HD version of the channel but until Cox decides that they want to add it to the local lineup I am stuck in SD land.

You can never judge a show by its pilot episode or the half season following it.

This thread is a little confusing, but it's all the same

I'm bumping the thread in 2012 for the TV show "The Universe" on H2

Last night's episode titled "Our Place in the Milky Way" was spectacular.
